Today's our last full day with Linc, and it hurts a little bit to think we won't have him around the house every day anymore.

It's been especially great to see all the boys interact with him.

"Morning.", Clay greets me as I sit on the couch next to him.

"Morning.", I yawn, curling up next to him.

George is the next person to appear, laying down on the couch; his head rests in my lap.

"Linc leaves tomorrow.", I sigh, looking down at George.

Using a finger, I trace a path from freckle to freckle on his face, amused by the smile he has on his face.

"What do you want to do today?", Clay questions, shifting a bit so my position against him is more comfortable.

I stay silent, trying to think of what to do.

"Has Lincoln ever been to the beach?", George asks, his eyes closed.

"Um, I don't think so?", I try to think about it, but I honestly am not sure of the answer.

"We should take him!", Clay exclaims.

Though I didn't have the greatest experience last time we all went to the beach, I really do want to take Linc.

I want him to have as much fun as possible with us, and I think this would be a great experience for him.

"We should!", George agrees.

Both boys grin when I nod along with them.

The rest of the boys eventually make their way into the room; all of us silently enjoying each other's company.

It's a chill morning until we hear a thud and echoing cries coming from upstairs.

I shoot to my feet, running upstairs.

All of the boys are hot on the trail, following me up the stairs.

"Linc?", I gasp as I open the door.

He's sitting on the floor holding one of his hands close to his chest.

"What happened?", I sit on the floor, pulling him onto my lap.

"Kitty scared me.", he cries, looking towards Patches who is sitting on the bed, contentedly licking one of her front paws.

"Must've fallen off of the bed.", Karl muses.

"What happened to your hand, buddy?", Clay asks him gently, attempting to get a peek at the hand Linc is hiding against his chest.

"Kitty licked me.", he wails, dramatically shoving his finger towards Clay.

The second he details his injury, an instant weight is taken off my shoulders.

The boys all look amused, but they don't laugh at him.

The scratchy feeling of her tongue must've scared the poor kid.

Sapnap scoops Lincoln out of my lap, and they head into the adjoining spare bathroom.

George digs through one of the cabinets as Alex turns on the faucet.

"Here.", Alex carefully takes Linc's hand, positioning his finger under the water.

"ABC's?", Linc tilts his head.

I giggle at their confusion.

"Archer and Sam taught him to sing the ABC's when he washes his hands so he does it long enough.", I explain, Lincoln nodding along like it was obvious.
