Finley's POV

Getting out of the bath, I realize George was right.

I feel so much better.

Half of me wants to get back in bed, but the other half of me wants to be productive.

I get dressed in a pair of sweats and a hoodie, my wet hair leaving wet circles on the material of my hoodie.

When I leave the bedroom, it's oddly quiet in the house.

There's soft talking coming from the kitchen.

"Hi.", I greet them as I enter the kitchen.

All of the boys are gathered around in some sort of cult circle.

However, they all look delighted to see me.

"Don't look at me like that.", I tease.

They all laugh a little too hard, and I think they're just relieved that I'm up and moving.

"Where's Linc?"

"He's upstairs.", Clay answers.

I nod, moving to leave the kitchen.

As I walk away, I can hear the talking increasing in volume a little bit.

I obviously re-energized the conversation they were having.

Linc is playing with some Legos when I enter the room.

"Aunty!", he cheers, giving me a big hug.

"Hi, bubba.", I return the hug.

"Too tight.", he chokes out, tapping my shoulder.

"Sorry.", I giggle, releasing the hug and letting him go back to his Legos.

I'm glad he's talking as George told me earlier that he's been pretty quiet.

A soft knock makes me look back up towards the door.

I sit next to Linc, smiling up at Alex who is standing in the doorway.

Patting the spot next to me, he takes the hint and sits down next to me.

"How are you?", Alex asks, taking one of my hands.

I let him play with my fingers.

"Still alive.", it was an innocent answer, but it makes me awkwardly laugh when I realize what I actually said.

Alex's eyes widen.

"I'm not sure if I'm supposed to laugh or feel bad.", he admits which makes me giggle.

"You can laugh."

Alex just shakes his head, but there's still an amused smile on his face.

"Play?", Linc asks the two of us.

We both take a few pieces of Legos from him, pretending to act more interested than we actually are.

I can tell Alex wants to tell me something, but I'm not sure if I want to know.

"You can tell me anything, Alex.", I decide to prompt him on.

There's no point in keeping secrets or walking on eggshells anymore.

"Leslie called again.", he says, still nervously playing with my fingers.

"About what?", my eyes snap up to his.

He shrugs.

"She just wanted to leave a message for you to call her back.", he plays the voicemail on my phone.
