When I wake up, all of the boys are still in bed.

Karl is still asleep while the rest of them are scrolling through their phones.

Except Alex seems to be missing?

I stretch a little bit, alerting them that I'm awake.

"Morning, pretty girl.", Clay smiles down at me, leaning the slightest bit to press a kiss to the top of my head.

Yesterday seems like some sort of weird nightmare, but unfortunately, it's real life.

"Sleep okay?", Clay asks me softly.

"Mhmm.", I hum, pulling one of the many blankets on our bed to cover my face.

"You can go back to bed if you're still tired.", George murmurs, shifting a little closer to me.

"I'm okay.", I mumble, uncovering my face to shoot him a soft smile.

I look around a bit before sitting up.

"Where are you going?", George asks me, a slight twinge of concern laced within the question.

"Check on Linc.", I reply.

Clay catches my hand before I can get too far away.

"He'd be down here if he's awake. I think you should get some rest while you can."

I frown the slightest bit at his suggestion.

"Where's Alex?", I change the subject.

The bed seems emptier than normal.

"Um, I don't know.", George answers.

"Didn't see him last night.", Clay adds on.

I move to get out of bed again, and I don't let them stop me this time.

All of the lights are off on the main floor, so I have a feeling I know where he is.

The door to his office is closed, so I crack it open the slightest bit to be able to see inside.

Alex is surrounded by a massive pile of papers, him sitting cross-legged on the floor.

"Hi."

He jumps at the sound of my voice, but he smiles up at me.

"What're you doing?", I carefully step through his massive circle of papers, sitting down next to him.

I lean against him, my head resting on his shoulder.

"Just going through some of my law stuff.", he motions to the papers.

There are different piles that I'm sure he's sorted, but it all looks like one jumbled mess to me.

"Why?", I ask him gently.

"What do you mean why?", his brow furrows.

"I'm really happy that you want to help and all, but I don't want you to stress yourself out after this. We'll find somebody that can help us. I want you to be my boyfriend, not my lawyer.", I try to gently break it to him.

If Alex tries to don his lawyer side, he'll get too into his head.

I just want his support.

"But I want to help.", he protests.

"I know. But you're going to help so much just by getting me through this. I feel so lost right now; I just need you."

Admitting it feels so strange.

Everything is so out of my control, and I can't stand it.

A heavy, shaky sigh passes my lips, and I try not to cry.

I hate feeling so vulnerable and lost, but there's no other way to describe what I'm feeling right now.

Alex rubs a hand up and down my back, his worried eyes meeting mine.

"Alex, how am I supposed to tell Linc?", I whisper.

His face falls, and I can tell that he doesn't' have an answer either.

"You want to tell him already?"

I can tell he's unsure.

I think about it for a moment.

"I don't want to, but I know I should. I think he deserves to know.", I mumble, playing with my fingernails.

"Is he up?", Alex asks, running his fingers through the ends of my hair, gently combing through the couple knots he encounters.

I shrug.

"Do you want to go check on him with me?", Alex stands up, several joints popping and cracking.

"Old man.", I tease him as I stand up too.

He just rolls his eyes, a hint of a smirk on his lips.

We listen through the door first, and I can hear the quiet sound of a clinking noise.

"Linc?", I whisper, opening the door slowly.

He's sitting on the floor playing with some blocks.

"Hey, buddy.", Alex smiles down at the kid.

"Hi!", he smiles up at Alex, holding his arms out.

Alex easily picks him up, and Linc rests his head on Alex's shoulder.

"Do you want to change or have a jammies day?", I offer the boy.

He's wearing footie pajamas with nothing other than dinosaurs printed on the fabric.

Linc points at his outfit, and I nod.

Alex carries him down the stairs, and we find the other four boys all spread out around the three couches.

I sit next to Karl on the middle couch while Alex plops down next to Sapnap.

Linc wiggles out of Alex's grasp, opting to climb up into Karl's lap.

"I want to tell him.", I blurt.

George and Sapnap both look surprised; Clay's face doesn't show any change in emotion.

Karl grimaces.

"I think it's a good idea.", Alex backs me up.

"If you want to, we should.", Clay nods solemnly.

There's a tense moment before I decide to speak up.

"Hey, Linc?", I gently pat his leg to get his attention.

"Hi.", he smiles up at me, his eyes such a familiar bright blue.

He got them from Arch.

I take a long, deep breath.

"We need to talk about Mommy and Daddy."
