George's POV

It's been two days since we told Linc about his parents, and it's been three days since we first found out what happened.

There's a weird tension in the atmosphere.

It's like we all want to talk about it, but we're not.

I slide off of the bed, everyone else still asleep.

We've been trying to keep Linc on a routine to try to keep some normalcy in his life, so I head upstairs once I quietly close the bedroom door.

I can't hear anything on the other side, so I slowly push the door open.

Linc's eyes are open, but he's just lying on the bed, staring at the ceiling fan that's spinning above his head.

"Morning, Linc.", I whisper, pushing the door open all the way.

He looks over at me, but his gaze drifts back up to the ceiling fan.

No greeting back.

"Ready for some breakfast?", I ask him, motioning for him to follow me downstairs.

He nods, sitting up to slide off of the bed.

He's been almost entirely non-verbal since the other day, and it makes me sad to think that he's coping by not speaking.

However, it makes me feel a little better when Linc takes me hand before we head down the stairs.

I help him up onto one of the barstools, making sure he won't fall off before turning towards one of the cabinets.

"Do you want cereal?", I turn around to look at him, letting him know he has my attention and is allowed to choose.

He nods.

"Which one?", I hold up two options for him.

Linc points at the box of Lucky Charms, and I nod.

I want him to know that it's okay if he doesn't feel like speaking, letting him cope in his own way.

I miss the cute stuff he used to say, but I'm not going to push him to do anything he doesn't want to.

Carefully pouring the cereal into a small bowl, I turn back around to face Linc again.

"Milk? Yes or no?", I shake my head both ways, so he knows what I want him to do.

He nods, and I nod back, pouring milk for him.

I grab one of our smaller spoons, setting the bowl and spoon in front of him.

He looks at it for a minute before picking up the spoon and taking a bite.

"Is it good?", I ask.

The corners of his mouth turn up the slightest bit as he nods.

Any progress is still progress.

"Morning, Gogs.", Sapnap's voice scares me as he enters the kitchen.

"Morning.", I reply, pouring myself a bowl of cereal.

"Hey, little man. Eating Lucky Charms?", Sapnap tries to engage with Linc.

Linc just looks at him before re-focusing back on his cereal.

"Talked yet?", Sap whispers as he moves closer to me.

I shake my head negatively, glancing at the boy before reaching for the milk again.

"The others still asleep?", I ask him.

"Yeah. Finn's been in bed since yesterday morning. I think she got up once to go to the bathroom...", Sap trails off.
