Three Years Ago

"West, wake up man. We're back at HQ." Cicero bumped the marksman awake. They passed the sign at the entrance that stated, 'Military Installation' and 'Deadly Force is Authorized' along with the Arabic translation.

West could see soldiers scattering around the airport. They were carrying wounded men into medical tents and walking around the base in a shell-shocked manner. West even saw blood being swept out of the back of some humvees.

The humvee Disciple-1 was riding in came to a screeching halt. West was the first one out, instantly searching the base for something. His teammates noticed his demeanor: it was his very, very, very short temper reaching its breaking point, "Besson, where was Reyes?"

One of the few things the Delta Force operators feared was West's wrath. Besson spat out an answer, "Probably sickbay. Bastard said he broke a leg."

West stormed off before Besson could finish, "Hurry, we need to stop his hillbilly ass before he Court Martials himself."

The team gave chase, but Hensley made his way to the Medical Tent before the rest. West flipped open the tent and saw the mangled Army Rangers laying around on cots with IVs stuck into their wrists. On the very end sat Reyes with a medic examining his leg.

West stomped down the aisles of cots and grabbed Reyes by his arm. "Hey man! What the fuck?!"

Reyes tried to relent West's grip to no avail. He was dragged all the way outside, where his other teammates were waiting. West threw him on his back and sand was shot everywhere from the impact. "West, man, don't do this." Cicero tried to stop the fuming soldier.

"I'm not going to kill him," West picked lifted Reyes by the collar, and struck him in the jaw, "I'm only going to rough him up a little."

Next was a kick to the stomach, sending all the air out of Reyes' lungs. A couple of Navy SEALs passing by turned a blind eye, knowing Reyes probably deserved it. "Now listen up, you little prick." Reyes whimpered and blinked dust out of his eyes, "You don't EVER leave your brothers behind! I'm going to have you scrubbing latrines in Bragg for the rest of your life!"

"Good luck, *cough* *cough* my father might think differently. You're all going to rot in a shit-hole prison in Louisiana!" Everyone let out a chuckle.

"Daddy going to save you?" West laughed at Reyes's threat. Reyes's father was a senator, another reason why he was in Delta Force at his level of incompetence. "I assume you don't have any idea of who my father is, do you? My Old Man can make you and your entire family disappear from the face of the earth." West growled.

"The fuck is wrong with you? A broken leg? Was it?" Reyes didn't say anything as West circled him, "You're pathetic. I've been doing this since you were getting acne. Have you seen the men rolling in here from the Port? They were in pieces. Some guy was so fucked up, he was crucified by those Skinnies down there, and here you are with a fake-ass broken leg."

Reyes didn't look at anyone, just down at the sandy floor for some excuse, "I wanted command of the team. I wanted to do something more than to carry Jansen's ammo!"

"Oh, that's funny. Your daddy's money can't get you that. Delta is somewhat run by people with brains. You're going to be on the last plane out of this hell-hole. You're not going to touch a firearm ever again and you're not going to have a soldier under your command for the rest of your life," West stood and kicked him one last time. "Also, if you tell anyone I touched you, You will disappear... and no one will give a fuck where you went. The CIA is good at that."

West turned to Kolinski, "Go get an MP, preferably Keller, to put this sack of shit in cuffs."

And with that, the Delta Team left Reyes in his dust cloud. "Told him, huh?" Cicero patted West on the shoulder. He had just done what every man on that base wanted to do since the first month of being there.
