Akiko moved from the kitchen to the living room, taking note of how barren the room was. 'No pictures of family or pets. Not even his teams. Maybe he's hiding something.'

"Maybe he's just not a materialistic person." The girl snapped at her beast. "He's willing to help me. Please, don't make my situation worse." The vixen growled, but said nothing more.

"Does she irritate you?" The girl turned slightly, looking at Kakashi.

"No. But she likes to poke fun at people. Points out their mistakes. It's not like they can hear her though." She looked around again. "Why don't you have any pictures?"

Without a word, he turned around and left the living room. He led her to the room she woke up in. "This is my room." He pointed at two framed pictures at the head of his bed. She recognized her father in one of them. Kakashi and a black-haired boy with goggles stood on either side of a brown-haired girl.

"Dad..." she smiled sadly. "Who are the other two?"

"The boy is Obito. And the girl is Rin."

She noticed the sadness in his voice. "Did they die." It was more of a statement than a question.

"Yeah." He paused and pointed at the picture beside it. "Look at this one."

She let at gasp, smiling as she recognized the boys in the photo's. "Brothers..." She would admit that she missed them. Itachi too.

Kakashi chuckled at her reaction before walking to a closet. "Yeah. They're always trying to see who's better between the two of them." He dug around, trying to find a pillow and blanket. He stood up when he found what he was looking for. "The bathroom is down the hall and to the right. You can take a shower if you want. I'll even leave one of my ninken so you have someone to talk to." With his pillow and blanket, the jonin left his own room.

"Wait, wait!" She rushed after him. It wasn't technically necessary as they were only few feet away from one another. "Isn't this your room?"

"You'll be more comfortable here, trust me. Besides, I'll be leaving you alone tonight."

"But I don't want to be left alone. What if that thing tries to take over again? I won't be able to fight against it."

"Don't worry about it," Kakashi placed a hand on the back of her head and made her rest it against his shoulder. "I swear, nothing will happen to you while you're here." Akiko hugged the jonin tightly.

"Thank you." She felt him place a hand on the middle of her back.

"I know about you watching Naruto when he ended up in the hospital during the exam." She pulled back abruptly, confusion filling her wide eyes.

"You knew about that!?"

"He's my student. Of course I knew." He sounded slightly offended. But she knew better.

"My father told me to protect him when he and mom died. I'm the only family he has. I can't be by his side, but I can still protect him." The fight between him and Kabuto flashing through her mind for a moment.

Kakashi suddenly released her and stood up. There was an odd look in his eye, like he had just remembered something. "Come on. There's one more picture you should see." He picked up his blanket and pillow and walked out of the room.
