(Short and sweet... maybe just short)
After an hour, the first exam had ended. Uta looked back at Kabuto, boredom the only thing in her eyes. She had finished the test in the first 20 minutes and was left to her own thoughts for the final 40. He gave her his own smile paired with a thumbs up.
She turned back to the front as Ibiki began to speak. He spent the next few minutes telling those who remained what the exam was really about, including the tenth question. The test was difficult, but it was to test their wills. The tenth question was to test their mind. To see if they would crack and succumb to the pressure.
Uroko suddenly uncurled from Uta's lap, moving to face the window. "What's wrong?" She didn't move a muscle or flick her tongue. "Is something coming?" Her head moved in a small nod. Not even seconds later, a large black object smashed through the window of the room. The thing unraveled, showing it was a young woman with purple hair.
"None of you are in any position to celebrate. I am the second chief examination officer, Anko Mitarashi!! Time's a-wastin', people. Let's go!! Follow me!!!" Nobody moved a muscle. The woman counted the remaining participants. "Seventy-nine of you are still here?! Ibiki! You passed twenty-six teams?! Obviously you went way too easy on them."
"This year we have a lot of outstanding applicants."
"Yeah, right. I'll cut down the number by half before the next test is done. Ooh! I get charged up just thinking about it! I'll explain things in detail as soon as we move to our next location... So follow me!!"

"How's your leg?" Kabuto muttered to Uta, making sure only she would hear him. "You pushed it a little bit before the first exam after not using it for 3 weeks.
She hit her leg a few times but felt no pain. "It's fine. It doesn't hurt at all." She looked at Anko, a prickle of worry hitting her gut, before looking Kabuto in the eye. "It's the examiner that I'm worried about. She's- I don't know how to explain it."
"She used to be Lord Orochimaru's student."
"She- she what? Hang on, hang on. He," she looked back at the woman. "He taught her?"
"Yeah. But it was a long time ago." She tuned the woman out, except for the part about a set of scrolls and needing to make it to the tower in the center of the forest. Her team made their way to a hut, sighed some papers, and were handed a scroll.
"Your gate number will be 38. Make your way there." The man that handed Kabuto his scroll instructed, earning a nod from the boy. His team exited the hut, making their way to their assigned gate.
"What scroll do we have?" Uta questioned, rolling one of her shoulders.
"Heaven. Can I trust you to keep it safe for the next five days?" She nodded eagerly, a groan coming from the two men behind her. She whipped around, sticking her tongue out at them. Yes, it was childish. But they rubbed her the wrong way. "Uta."
She quickly faced forward again, her eyes finding the ground. "Sorry, Kabuto." The men smirked at her getting scolded, only for the ash-haired boy to give them dirty looks. Their smirks dropped, becoming replaced with irritated glares. The gates were opened and the second exam began.
