As the lift came to a stop, the doors swished open, letting everyone out. The girls ran out first, followed by Spock and Micheal. Who chuckled softly as the girls headed to their destination. Spock arched an eyebrow, smirking. He enjoyed this part. Watching his children get excited over being on a ship. Of exploring. He watched as they ran up to one of their favorite officers. Each one giving him a hug.
"That was unexpected," Hugh said, smiling at the two young girls who were in front of him.
"How long are you guys staying on board this time?" He asked.
"Until we find our Uncle," T'sha said. She looked around the medical bay, hopping up on one of the bio beds.
"Uncle?"
Rachel nodded. "We have an Uncle named Sybok," she explained.
Hugh turned and looked at Micheal and Spock as they entered . "How many siblings do you have ?" He asked her.
"Just Spock and Sybok," Micheal said as she brought her hands up.
"Sybok is Serek's oldest child," Spock explained. "His mother is a Vulcan High Priestess."
Hugh just shook his head. "It's confusing," T'sha said as she looked out of one the windows.
"Our family is weird," Rachel added with a nod.
"I'll say," Hugh said with a chuckle.
"How are things with your Husband?" Rachel asked, looking out of the other window.
"Paul is doing good," Hugh replied, looking down at one of his monitors. Both girls turned and looked at him. Both of them arched their eyebrows. "Are you ok?" T'sha asked. Her voice was full of concern.
Hugh nodded quickly. "I'm good," he said with forced optimism.
Both Rachel and T'sha exchanged concerned looks.
Leaning in closer, Rachel whispered "you know he's lying, right?"
T'sha just nodded. Looking back up the doctor. She could feel the anger and depression coming from him. A huge part of her heart went out to him.
Getting up off of the bed, she walked over to him and hugged him tightly.
"It's ok to be sad," she said softly.
Hugh looked at her and gave her a sad smile.
"It will be ok," she told him. "One day."
"You're gonna make a fine counselor one day,'' he told her honestly. T'sha looked at him.
"I'm gonna be an Admiral one day," she explained matter of fact. She nodded as she spoke.
"Admirals can be counselors, some of the best, actually, " Hugh smiled. "Plus that way you can make better informed decisions,"he added.T'sha looked at him, then she nodded. She looked at her father, "What do you think, Father?"
"I think that you and your sister can be whatever you wish to be," he told her with as much love and pride he could muster while keeping his expression neutral on the outside. At his side, Michael smiled, nodding in approval.
