"Are you sure you two wish to do this?" Spock asked as he sat between his two girls. In-between the three of them was the holo of their mother. T'sha and Rachel exchanged looks of longing between the two of them. Nodding, they placed the holo in front of them. Taking a deep breath each, they looked at the image of their mother. She was smiling. She always did on special occasions. And the day that this holo was taken was the last mother's day that she was alive for.
The girls were around eleven at the time, and were getting ready to join their parents for their latest deep space assignment. Them being stationed on the Enterprise under the command of Captain Christopher Pike. When she died, Captain Pike offered Spock leave so that he could grieve and be there for the two girls as they dealt with the death of their mother at such a young age.
Looking at the holo, both girls bent down. "Hello mom," T'sha began as she cleared her throat. "We are well. Even father. Aunt Michael is a Captain now. She sends her love. And don't worry, we are going to talk with Grandmother as soon as we are done speaking with you. School is getting better for us. Our teachers always tell Father that we are model students." T'sha glanced down, choking on her tears that were starting to fill her vision.
Taking a sharp breath, she opened her mouth to speak again, only to be over come with her emotions. Retreating into her Father's arms, she began to cry while her twin cleared her throat. Trying to think of what she could add to what her sister had already said. Finally, after a moment, she began to speak from her heart.
"We are incomplete without you," she said as her own tears ran down her cheeks. Closing her eyes for a moment, she took a sharp breath.
"We miss you, Mother. You always understood us better than anyone. You were the best of us. We miss you."
