T'sha and Rachel exchanged smiles as they saw Saru. Number One stood up and adjusted her uniform as she stepped closer to the view screen. "Mr. Saru," she said with a smile. "It's been a while," she added as she placed her hands behind her back. Saru nodded. "Indeed it has, Commander," he looked at the two younger Vulcans. "Rachel, T'sha," he greeted. Behind them, Spock rose from his seat and walked closer to the view screen.
"Commander Saru," Spock greeted. At his side, T'sha was bouncing up and down on her heels. Spock arched his eyebrow as he watched her, slightly feeling amused at how excited she was . Not that he could blame her. While he tried to look neutral on the outside, on the inside he was just as excited as his children when it came to meeting new species. And Saru was one such being.
When they were on Discovery, Spock had gotten the impression that Saru and Michael were close.

Just like he and Michael had been before they had had a following out that made them not talk to each other for several years. Spock looked down for a moment. Part of the reason that he and Michael had not talked in years was due to his stubborn pride. He now regretted his decision to keep her out of his life for as long as he had. It was a foolish choice on his part. He looked up as he heard Rachel speak. "Mr. Saru," she beamed with palpable excitement. "Where is Aunt Michael?" She asked. "Is she OK? Are you all well? How's the spore drive?" She rattled off her questions at warp speed. When she realized this, she blushed slightly and wisphered a quiet "sorry," as she looked down.
"There is nothing to be sorry for," Saru answered with a comforting tone. "Your Aunt is fine. She cannot see wait to see you and your sister," he went on. He gave the young girl a smile. "The spore drive is fine. Commander Stamments is very good at making sure that it stays operational."

"The rest of the crew cannot wait to see you all again, even you, Mr. Spock," Sari went on. Spock inclined his head, but said nothing. T'sha turned and looked at him. Then back at the view screen. "Come, Rachel, T'sha," she heard her father's voice boom in its deep baritone from behind. "We're heading to the transporter room. Commander, please inform the transporter room that there will be three to beam over to Discovery," Spock said as he walked towards the torpo lift. Rachel and T'sha quickly following behind him.
