"I'm sorry,"Lokai said. "How did your mother die?" He asked softly.
T'sha bit her lip, taking in a long breath. "She and my father were on a mission on a far way planet and my mother got injured during an ambush. She died shortly after. My father was with her when she died," she said quietly. She glanced over at Spock. "He tries to hide it, but I can see that he misses her as much as my sister and I. I think maybe even more so. "
Lokai glanced at Spock. "He doesn't look like it," he said quietly."He's half Vulcan," the young girl replied. "Just like me. I'm only a quarter Vulcan. But it is the most permanent genes." She pointed to her ears. "Sometimes I think about clipping them. To appear more human."
Spock turned and he walked over to his daughter. Concern came across his features. He had clearly heard her comments about wanting to clip her ears.
Bending down in front of her, he placed his hands around her gently.
"My little flower," he said in Vulcan. "Why would you change something that makes you so unique?"T'sha bit her lip. "So I can .. be normal. Be human. To not have this constant battle going on inside of me. This ... depression." She looked at her father. "It feels like there is a war inside of my head." As she spoke, tears welled up in her eyes. Lokai leaned in close. "If it means anything, " he began soothingly. ' I think that your ears are beautiful. "
That comment made her blush. Which made Lokai smile. "She really is beautiful," he said, looking at Spock. Spock shot him 'don't you dare ' parental look.
T'sha just blushed even more, smiling as she ducked her head slightly. Lokai smirked.
