Getting To Know Each Other

Back at the secret underground base, Eli, Miles and Shuri were getting to know each a little bit more.

"So, he gave you the name, Patriot?" Shuri said.

"Yeah. Wasn't my decision. It was his." Eli said.

"What about your other friend? Miles isn't it?" Shuri said.

"Well, you can do-- Miles? Miles, where you at?" Eli said.

"Right here." Miles said as he appeared out of nowhere.

"Who! Damn, Miles. I didn't know you can turn yourself invisible." Eli said.

"You just scared me." Shuri said.

"Sorry. Just thought I could test it out more." Miles said.

"Any other secret superpowers you got?" Eli asked.

"No, I don't think so. What about you, Shuri? Beside being a princess." Miles said.

"I'm Head of the Science and Information Exchange. Also leader of Wakanda Design Group and innovator of modern technology." Shuri said as the boys were wowed.

Eli whistled.

"Wow, you would definitely fit right in at Brooklyn Visions. My school that is." Miles said.

"Oh, I'm fine where I'm at. Plus, I heard American schools are pretty hectic. Just like in that American tv show." Shuri said.

"Yeah, Well, no school is perfect. Private or public." Eli said.

"So what else do you guys wanna do?" Miles asked.

Moments later, Sam, Rhodey, T'Challa, Okoye and Valkyrie return to the secret underground base.

"That was a perfect way to handle those protesters, Sam." T'Challa said.

"Thanks. I just wish more people would do it." Sam said.

"I saw the whole thing from above. Is that what most Americans are like?" Valkyrie said.

"Sadly, yes. But not every American's like that." Sam said.

"Sam, what were they talking about letting your wing-man, die?" Rhodey asked.

"His name was Riley. He was flying at night mission in Afghanistan. He was struck and killed by one of the RPG's and I couldn't do anything to help him. Now they're taking his death on me. He was just a kid. A little older than Miles and Eli, but he was young." Sam said.

"Sam, what happened to Riley was not your fault." Rhodey said.

"Most nights have nightmares about it." Sam said.

"Sorry to break up your memoirs of your ex-mate, but we have a bigger problem coming up." Nick said.

"What's that?" Rhodey said.

"Senator Herald has passed a bill on Americops joining law enforcements. Meaning that more of Americops are coming through New York." Nick said.

"They're going to use more dose of super serum on them. Making them more stronger and brutal on the people." Sam said.

"Yes. And if we don't stop them. More mother's are going to lose their son's and husband over police brutality." Nick said.

"Then we have no time to waist." T'Challa said.

"But what about the kids? Do you think they're ready for this?" Rhodey said.

"I think they're going to surprise you. They're an exceptional bunch of young people." Nick said.

"Even with one week of training, I don't think these kids are ready enough." Sam said.

"Wait, what the hell is going on?" Rhodey said as he heard music.

"Sounds like music." Valkyrie said.

The five of them approach the quarters where the teens are dancing to What's Up With That by Future and 21 Savage very loud as Miles was break dancing.

"Is that American music?" Okoye said.

"Yes." Rhodey said.

"It's terrible." Okoye said.

"Yeah, it's not for everyone." Sam said.

"Go, Miles! Go, Miles! Go, Miles! Go, Miles!" Eli and Shuri said as he continues to break dance.

"Having fun?" Nick Fury said with his arms fold and the rest of the crew caught them.

"Who waisted the Dr. Pepper?" Rhodey asked.

"Spider-Man, did." Eli snitched on Miles said.

"That figures." Fury said sarcastically as he walk away.

"You are a Princess Shuri. I expect you act like it." Okoye said.

"I'm telling mother." T'Challa said.

"I expect more from you! Tomorrow, bright in early. You'll be working like hell." Sam said as he leaves. Both Shuri, Miles and Eli looked at each other.

"Go, easy on them. They're just trying to have some fun." Valkyrie said.

The next morning, Kasper got a call from Torks to let him know he's off suspension.

"Hey, Torks. Is today the day?" Kasper said.

"Yes. We might need your help for today. If you can come by sometime today so we can talk." Torks said on the phone.

"Sure. I'll be there." Kasper hangs up the phone.

"They lifted your suspension up already?" Gwen said.

"Yes. But, Torks need me for some reason. I'll probably be back until midnight." Kasper said as he put on his jacket and head to the office.

Once he got there, Torks ask him about a protesting that will be happening tonight. So he agreed. Back at the base, Rhodey decides to call Rae.

"Hey, Rae. I haven't heard from you since the funeral." Rhodey said.

"Yeah. I been kinda busy, lately." Rae said.

"Yeah, me too. I was wondering maybe you'll like to go out sometime. For old time sake. As friends?" Rhodey asked.

"I don't know, Rhodey. I don't think I have time for that right now. My some other time?" Rae said.

"Okay. I understand." Rhodey said.

"So, I'll see you around then." Rae said.

"Yeah. See you around, Rae." Rhodey said as he hangs up the phone.

"An ex?" Valkyrie said from behind.

"How long have you been standing there?" Rhodey asked.

"Long enough. Girl trouble, huh?" Valkyrie said.

"Yeah. Just trying to get things back to normal with her, but you know the past can always catch up to you, right?" Rhodey said.

"I understand. I actually lost someone. I try hard to forget by drinking, but sometimes I can never forget. never go away. We just have to live with it." Valkyrie said.

"You're right about that." Rhodey said.
