My poor angel just shook her head sadly. "I mean, I understand the fact that she didn't think that she could be a good full-time guardian and a good full-time mother. But if she had been even a good part-time mother, that would have been a hell of a lot better than what she has actually ever been to me. Hell even being a half assed occasional mother would have beaten what she has been hands down. Being a nonexistent parent who only shows interest in my life when I say or do something that she disagrees with or doesn't like for some reason or another gives her absolutely no say in my life. She didn't want to raise me, so she abandoned me here. She can't just try to come back into my life now that I am an adult and try acting like some half assed excuse for a sorry and pathetic parent. One who is only trying to make me do what and as she wants me to. It just doesn't work that way, at least not with me it doesn't. Just because I am now an adult and she doesn't have to do anything, like raise me, since you already have. She doesn't have to feed and clothe me since she left that up to you and the academy to do. As you know I have seen her a grand total of three times since she left me here. I got an e-mail from her when I returned. But all it said was that she was disappointed in me and ashamed of my actions and how embarrassed that she was that I took Lissa away from the so called security of the academy. She didn't even bother to say that she was glad that I was back and safe. She didn't even contact me after the crash letting me know that she even cared that I was still alive... or alive again I guess I should say. So no, she has absolutely no business trying to install herself in my life in any way what. So. Ever anymore. She gave up that right when she gave up on me."
"Yes, you are an adult. You have been an adult for a lot longer than you should have been at your age. And you are right about Janine, she could have been almost any type of mother and it would have been better than what she was. But she does love you, Rose."
I nodded in agreement with everything that both women had just said.
"Then she should have shown me that in some way over the years. Instead of pretty much forgetting that I was ever even born."
Again, I agreed with my Roza. Just as I knew that Alberta did, which was confirmed by her next words.
"I know, and I agree with you Rose. Just please don't forget that she does love you, even if she doesn't and has never known exactly how to show it."
"I'll try Alberta."
"Good, thank you. Now, are you both packed?"
"Yes." I answered.
"I am almost finished." Was my Roza's answer to Alberta's question.
"Do you want someone to drive you to the airport? Or do you want to take a car from the motor pool and leave it at the airport while you are gone?"
"Whichever way is easier and better for you Alberta." I answered while still holding onto the hand of my soul mate and ledi lyubov'. (lady love)
"Just take a car from the motor pool. That way no matter what time your flight gets back in you won't have to wait around for someone to come and pick you up. And if it's after dark I won't have to worry about the two of you being out on the road in case of a strigoi attack."
"Thank you so much Alberta." My Roza said to her surrogate mother.
"May I ask how you plan to explain our absence from the ski lodge?" I asked.
She shrugged nonchalantly. "Simple, training exercise."
Roza and I both laughed.
"Won't the other novices and guardians all think that's suspicious?" Roza asked.
