"That is how we hid from some of the strigoi and psi hounds before baba came for us." (daddy)

"But couldn't they smell you even with you cloaking the two of you?"

"No, when I cloak someone, it is not only visually that I cloak them. My cloak blocks all of the senses."

"Wow. Ok, what else?"

She eventually, after some very deep thoughts, responded. "I can see ghosts, and when Lissa and I connect, then she can see them through me."

"But milaya, ghosts don't..." (honey)

"Yes, they do. That is something else that we had to find out the hard way."

"The hard way how exactly if you don't mind my asking?"

"A few weeks, well more like a month or so before we left the academy, I started seeing Lissa's family around campus, at first I thought that I was nuts. That I had some kind of brain injury due to the care accident. But eventually they convinced me that they were in fact real and really the Dragomir's. They, and what they were telling me, was the last straw they were what finally made me take Lissa and leave."

"What do you mean?"

"As you already know, Ms. Karp kept telling me to take Lissa and run. But what you don't know, is that she repeatedly told me that someone was after Lissa, just like they were after her. And that if they were to ever find out about me then they would be after me as well. How she knew about me we never found that out. She had been telling me that someone was after Lissa for a couple of weeks before I saw the Dragomir's for the very first time. And when they told me the same thing, I finally accidently pulled Lissa into my head, while her family were all urging me to take her and leave the academy. Once she saw what I had been dealing with, she wanted to know what else I had been going through that I hadn't told her about. Which was pretty much everything, because I was trying my best not to bother her with my problems. But she insisted that I tell her everything. So I sat her down and we had a long talk and I told her everything that I knew and everything that I had been going through since the crash. After I told her everything, she asked me if I truly thought that there really was someone who I thought was after us. I told her that I did, although I didn't know who it was, and that was when we made the decision to leave the academy. But we only made that decision after I told Kirova that someone was after Lissa and asked her several times for help protecting Lissa. She never believed me; she even repeatedly called me a liar, a stupid slut, a worthless bitch and an attention seeking little blood whore. Who just wanted more attention than what a useless, worthless whore, slut, replaceable with a dog dhampir and blood whore like me was worth."

"I'm going to yeblya kill her!!!" I growled furiously as I slammed the heel of my right hand against the steering wheel. Hard. (fucking)

"No, just please don't ever bring it up unless I ask you to. Lissa and I are saving that little tidbit of information just in case either one or both of us ever really has need of it before graduation. Her refusal to protect Lissa could get her put in prison, or worse, if we ever tell anyone. And she knows that just as well as we do, which is why she never pushes us too far since our return to the academy."

I thought about what she said for a while then I realized that before the next five and a half months were over. We may very well have need of that little piece of information for one reason or another. So I acquiesced to her request, for now, all be it reluctantly.

"All right, I promise you that I will keep this information to myself until you decide otherwise. Now, what did you mean by when you said that 'you and Lissa connect'?"
