"Honey, I just want to let you know just how sorry I am about the deaths of your family. I don't want you to worry about anything, do you hear me? We are going to protect and keep you safe. Do you understand me?"
"Yes ma'am, but it's not me that I am worried about. It's those around me and those that I care about that I am worried about."
"I know, you always put everyone else above yourself, you always have. And unfortunately, even after you take the throne you will have to continue to do that. That is just one of the vows that a queen must make at her coronation."
"It's all right, I understand Aunt Tati."
After we all said our goodbyes Roza moya curled up against my chest and fell asleep. And I slipped my cell phone back into the back pocket of my jeans. I had already known that lyubov' moya was going to need all the rest that she could possibly get in the coming days, weeks, and months. (my, my love)
When we left the academy, I had planned for Roza and I to leave Baia on Wednesday, which is the day after tomorrow. Where we would have stayed in an exclusive hotel in Omsk for a few days before we headed back to Montana.
I had planned for us to have a very romantic few days in Omsk before returning to the academy. But I knew that right now she just wasn't physically, mentally nor emotionally up for that. So, we would wait.
No matter how badly I knew that we both wanted to be together, I was not going to take advantage of her mental and emotional state right now. That just wasn't who I am, who we are. When the time is right for us, we would finally be able to be together that way.
So now, however, we would wait in Baia for Abe. When Abe had left here, he had left twenty of the twenty-five guardians that he'd brought with him to stand guard over all of us.
My family were almost finished packing, and we were trying to eat all of the food in the house that could spoil while they were away. Which wasn't easy given Roza's moya lack of appetite since her family's deaths. And that was completely understandable, I had been the exact same way when I'd lost Ivan. (my)
I hadn't eaten for days after I found out that Ivan had died. Finally, my mother had given up and asked me to eat something, if only for her own piece of mind. Which was the only reason that I had given in and eaten, because I hadn't wanted her worrying over me. Not when she had so many other things and people to worry about and I had not wanted to add any more stress and worry onto her shoulders.
Abe had called me, shortly after Roza moya had fallen asleep, and told me that he would be adding another fifty guardians to help guard the academy when we went back. (my)
So, all in all adding Roza's personal guardians that would mean that there would be another one hundred and fifty guardians at the academy. Plus, he was taking another fifty-five guardians for wherever or however they were needed.
Be that the academy, court, or most importantly personal guardians for any of those who are in danger. Especially Roza moya. So, I wasn't counting them yet, simply because I didn't know exactly where they would be assigned yet. (my)
But twenty-five of those one hundred and fifty guardians would be specifically for Roza moya. Another twenty-five were to guard those closest to her. But between the seventy-five that Aunt Tati was sending and the fifty from Abe's own personal army of guardians, that would still be one hundred and twenty-five guardians to bolster the academy's numbers. And I knew that if more were needed that Abe wouldn't hesitate for a second to make sure that they were there. (my)
So, adding Abe's guardians and the ones that Aunt Tati planned to send to the academy, as well as all of the current academy guardians to the total of guardians. That would be two hundred and fifty-five campus and fifty personally assigned guardians on campus until this mess was all over with. Which is almost what a full roster of academy guardians would consist of. Since there are supposed to be a total of three hundred and fifteen guardians on staff at each academy. But there have not been enough guardians, since before I was even born, to fully staff the academies. But it is even worse now than it was back then, and it gets worse and worse as the years go by.
