Chapter 17: 'Welcome to the Refuge'

Dipper's POV

We just barely made it to the mansion before it got dark.

"Wow." Ally said. Leo had his hands close together and then moved them apart. "Yeah, it's really big." Ally said.

"Alright slow pokes, let's go." Bill said. He put the code into the gate. It opened up and we walked into the mansion. "P! We got some refugees!"

"I see that today has been successful." P paused and raised an eyebrow. "Anything else happen?" It dawned on me that I was still holding Bill's hand. I quickly let go and I felt my face heat up.

"Shut up Pyronica." I heard Bill say. Ally was laughing and Leo sounded like he was too.

"Who are these two?" P asked crouching down to Ally and Leo's height.

"I'm Ally! And this is my friend Leo!"

"I'm Pryonica, those two lovebirds call me P and you can too." She said,

"Pyronica!" I yelled. Ally giggled again.

"Hello Pyronica, I'm Ally's mother, Melody."

"Hello Melody. Welcome to the refuge. I'll show you guys where you can sleep."

"Can I share a room with Leo, P?"

"If your parents say it's okay." Melody looked at Soos and he nodded.

"Yeah of course you can honey." Melody said.

"Alright! I'll show you to your rooms so you can get settled." P pointed to us. "You two go get some dinner." I waved to my friends as P took them away.

"You ready?" Bill asked. I nodded and we went inside. We got dinner and sat at our usual table. I saw Evan enter the dining room.

"Evan! Over here!" I yelled, waving. Evan smiled and came over to our table. He sat in front of me.

"Hey Pine Tree." I looked at him weirdly.

"Dude, only Bill calls me Pine Tree." I glanced at Bill. He was doing his demon glare. "I suggest you don't call me that. Just call me Dipper."

"Sorry Dorito." Evan said, smiling. Bill was still glaring at him. I put my hand on his shoulder.

"Calm down Bill." I told him. Bill looked down and glared at his food instead. I chuckled. "Sorry about him,"

"It's alright." Evan said.

"Bill, stop using your demon glare on your food and eat."

"I do not have a demon glare Pine Tree."

"Oh you so have a demon glare Bill." P sat down next to Evan with her food.

"No one asked you P." Bill said. 

"Dipper!" I looked up and Ally was running towards me with Leo close on her tail.

"Hey Ally." I said.

"Can Leo and I sit with you?"

"Of course you can." Ally smiled and sat on the other side of me with Leo next to her.

"Who's this?" Evan asked.

"I'm Ally! This is my friend Leo." She said, Evan put his hand out.

"I'm Evan, but people call me Eight Ball. I'm Dipper and Bill's friend." Ally shook his hand. Evan shook his hand with Leo too. "Not much of a talker are you kid?" Ally looked and Leo and he nodded his head.

"Leo's mute. He can't talk."

"Oh, sorry kid." Leo waved it off while smiling.

"Oh about that!" P said, pulling something out of her pocket. She handed a small notebook to Leo and took the pencil out of her hair. "I found you a notebook for you to use. So you don't need a translator with you all the time. I found you a notebook for you to use." Leo's face lit up. He took the notebook out of P's hand.

Thank you! He wrote.

"You're welcome kid." Soos Melody and Wendy sat at a table near us. "You guys will have to pull your weight if you're going to stay here." P told them.

"Yeah we'll help in any way we can." Soos said. We all ate our food and had a good time. Ally yawned and put her head against my arm.

"Ally, you wanna go to bed?"

"No, I'm not," She yawned again. "tired." I laughed a bit. I carefully got out of my chair.

"Come on Ally, time for bed." I said softly, picking her up.

"Are you tired too Leo?" I asked. He nodded his head and rubbed his eyes.

"Dipper, we'll get the kids to bed, you stay here with your friends." Melody said. I shook my head and smiled.

"I got them Melody, it's okay."

"Pine Tree, I got Leo." Bill said. He was holding Leo. I smiled. "Which floor are they on P?"

"Second floor, third room on the left." She told us. We nodded and walked to their rooms. Ally fell asleep in my arms and snored softly. I looked over to Bill.

"She's sleeping." I whispered. We climbed up some steps and found their room. I opened the door and we walked into their room. There were two beds pushed next to each other. We put Ally and Leo down. I put a blanket over them. "Night you two." I whispered. Bill and I tiptoed out of the room and closed the door. Bill and I went back to the dining hall and sat back down with our group. Everyone slowly left and Bill and I stayed behind to help Pyronica clean up.

"Thanks for helping me, you two. Go get some sleep, you got patrol again tomorrow." We nodded.

"Night." We told her. Bill and I walked up to our rooms.

"Neither of us are going to bed, are we?" I asked.

"Nope. Sleep over?"

"Sure." I told him. We went into Bill's room. This wasn't the first sleepover we've had. Anytime either of us had nightmares we would have one and after that we had one almost every night. Not on purpose, it just happens. "Hey Bill?"

"Yeah Pine Tree?"

"Do you want your jacket back?" Bill smiled at me.

"Nah you can have it for a while."

"Are you sure? Cause it was your brother's and-"

"I'm sure Pine Tree, plus you look cute in it."

"Bill!" I yelled.

"What? I'm just telling the truth."

"You don't just say stuff like that!" I hid my face in a stray pillow. Bill poked my sides.

"Pine Tree?"

"What?" I asked putting the pillow down.

"You look like a tomato." He said smiling.

"Shut up!"

Hello! Sorry for not updating, I have no excuses other than I'm lazy! Happy Pride everyone! I'll try to get another chapter before I leave for Girl Scout Camp in two weeks! Hope Ya'll enjoyed this very crappy chapter! Stay safe, Stay healthy, but most importantly, Keep on keepin' odd everybody!
