Dipper's POV
"Bill," he hummed. "We have to get up."
"No," Bill tightened his grip around me. "We're off duty today." He told me. I lifted myself enough to hover over him.
"Yeah, but I'm hungry and we have to wake up Rylan anyways." Bill rolled his eyes but let his arms fall from my waist.
"Fine. But we're coming back here at some point." I smiled.
"Deal." I told him. I rolled off of Bill and got off the bed. "I'm going to go change, be right back Dorito." Bill raised his hand and gave me a thumb's up. I grabbed my clothes out of the closet and walked into the bathroom. "You better be out of bed by the time I get back. Or I'm leaving you here." I told him before closing the door.
I changed into new clothes, I forgot Bill's sweater. I brushed my teeth and rinsed my face off. I gathered my abandoned clothes and walked out the bathroom. Bill was sitting on the bed combing his fingers through his hair.
"You ready?" Bill looked up at me and smiled as he stood.
"Yep, though you might want to get a sweater." I tossed my clothes into the hamper, we need to do laundry today.
"That's probably smart." I said. I found Bill's sweater and put it on. "Now are we ready?" Bill nodded and we walked out. Bill knocked on Rylan's door.
"Hey kid you up?" He called out knocking again. "It's time for breakfast." There was no response. Bill opened the door and we peaked through. "Rylan?" Rylan was sleeping peacefully on their bed tangled in the blanket.
"I feel bad for waking them." I whispered.
"Maybe we'll wake them up and ask if they want breakfast and if not then they can just go back to sleep?" We looked back at Rylan and they were sitting up.
"What, what are you guys doing?" Bill opened the door fully and we went into the room.
"Sorry we woke you Rylan," He told them. They rubbed their eyes.
"It's okay," They yawned. "What's up?"
"We're going down for breakfast," I said as we sat down at the foot of their bed. "You wanna come with?" Rylan thought for a moment.
"Yeah, just give me a minute. I'll meet you down there." We nodded.
"Okay, we'll be in the dining room." Bill told them. Rylan smiled.
"I'll see you there." We smiled back. We left their room and made our way downstairs. We saw Pyronica and Evan sitting at our usual table with the kids. They both still looked tired, and picking at their food.
"Morning guys." Bill told them as we sat. They both nodded but didn't say anything.
"Morning!" Ally told us happily.
"Good morning you two." I told them. "How'd you sleep?"
"Great!" She told me. Leo gave me a thumbs up. I smiled at them and nodded.Bill slid over a bowl and I started to eat. I put my head on Bill's shoulder and he wrapped his arm around my waist.
"Are you regretting not listening to me earlier?" Bill asked.
"Shut it." I told him. I yawned again. "Just give me a few minutes." I mumbled. Bill hummed a response and squeezed my shoulder.
And I was right, after a few minutes I was wide awake. By that time, Rylan had come downstairs. They ruffled Leo's hair when they came to our table.
"Hey Lion." They sat down next to Bill. "How'd you sleep?" Leo gave them a thumbs up and took another bite of cereal. Rylan looked at Pyronica and Evan. "Um, good morning." they said. Pyronica glanced up and smiled softly at them. Evan, well...
He didn't really react at all. Which I didn't blame him for. Rylan, while unwillingly, did try to kill his best friend. During breakfast, Rylan leaned on Bill while they talked to Leo and Ally. Pyronica even joined in on occasion and had a decent conversation with Rylan. Soon, breakfast was over. We cleaned up and brought our dishes to the kitchen.
"Well good morning everyone!" Susan told us happily when she saw us. "How did y'all sleep?"
"Great!" Ally yelled happily. "Do you know if there's still snow outside?"
"Well I do believe there is! Jason just went outside to get some firewood and there was still a lot of snow outside."
"Pyronica can we go outside later? Please?" Ally asked.
"That's up to Dipper and Bill, they're the ones watching you for today," She told her. Ally and Leo quickly turned to us.
"Dipper can we? Can we? Please?" She begged while Leo tried to make a puppy dog face.
"I think we can, what do you say Pine Tree?" Bill asked, nudging me.
"Of course we can, maybe not right now but later yeah?" Ally and Leo hugged my legs tightly.
"Thank you!" Ally told me. I smiled
"You're welcome you two," There was a knock at the door. Evan opened it and Jason came in snowy footsteps followed.
"It is way too cold." He said as he put the wood down next to the oven.
"Thank you dear." Susan told him. "Take a second to warm up." She told him.
Mabel and Will met the kids and I in the Library after we left the kitchen. Bill was talking to Pyronica for a few minutes outside then came in while Rylan stayed with Pyronica so she could explain what they had to do later. Mabel was coloring with Ally and Leo while Will was talking to Bill. And I was trying to find a new book to read to the kids after we finished The Knight and the Red Dragon.
"Hey so can you-" Rylan came into the room, Mabel and Will didn't even flinch. Rylan yelped when they saw them. Bill's eyes went wide for a second.
"Oh hey Rylan, um,"
"Are, are those ghosts?" They yelled backing up into the wall. Bill quickly went over to them.
"It's okay Rylan, don't be scared."
"Don't be scared?" They yelled. "What do you mean don't be scared? There are two ghosts here!"
"I know Rylan, I'll explain everything. I just need you to calm down okay?" Bill slowly led the still frozen Rylan to the table where Mabel and the kids were. Bill sat down next to Rylan and I sat down on the other side of them.
"Rylan, this is Mabel, Pine Tree's twin sister." She gave them a small wave. "And," Will drifted over. "This is Will, my twin brother. The one I told you about."
"How are-"
"We don't know." I told them. "They came here a few days ago."
"Um hi," Will said.
"Sorry we scared you Rylan." Mabel glanced at their wrist. "Oh I like your bracelet." She said,
"Thank you." they told her. Rylan looked at both of the ghosts. "It's nice to meet you." They were taking this really well. After a few minutes Rylan was laughing and smiling while they talked to Mabel and Will. The two ghosts went to find more paper for the kids after a bit. The door opened again.
"Hey Dipper?" It was Pyronica.
"Yeah? Whatcha need?"
"Um, can you go help Eightball train some new uh, people. People want to know how to defend themselves after yesterday." She said quickly.
"Uh, I guess? The training room right?" She nodded quickly. "I'll see you guys later then." I got up and left the library. That was really strange. Pyronica was also acting strange. She kept looking to the left, and sounded like she was hiding something. I shrugged as I walked up the stairs. Bill was with the kids, I wasn't that worried. I opened the door to the training room.
"Hey Dipper! Didn't think you'd show!"
"Hi Evan. So, what do you need me to do?"
Never mind I had the next three chapters written. Two more to go! Stay safe, stay healthy, but most importantly, keep on keepin' odd everybody!!
