It had been 2 months since Stevie had been chased out of Cairo by her cohorts-turned-vampires.

When the airport didn't work out, she made her way to the sea port, where she was able to use her power to convince some rich tycoon to give her his ticket for the cruise ship he had been about to get on. She didn't know where the ship was heading, but she had to leave fast.

The cruise was really long, and when it was over, she finally got off the boat in Singapore. The cruise had been all inclusive, but in wealthy Singapore, the fact that she had no money came back into play.

She found a busy nightlife area to panhandle in. She got a lot of "no"s and "get lost," but mostly she was just ignored. It was humiliating to beg people for money. She always felt like she was a little bit tougher than most people, but realizing she had no money and nowhere to go put her on the verge of tears. But she sucked it in as best she could.

Stevie didn't love using her power, and felt like bending someone's will to give her money was pretty much stealing. She hated using people like that and tried to make it a point not to do it, but after so much rejection, she figured some of the extremely rich-looking millionaire type men could be made to fork over a fat wad of cash. She was desperate, after all.

The first mega rich man she saw after resigning to use her power was unbelievably handsome. He was older, with beautiful eyes like aquamarine gemstones, a trimmed gray beard, and a goofy old man explorer's outfit, complete with the adventurer's wide-brimmed hat that screamed "tourist." He was tall and absurdly muscular for an old guy, like he had lived in a gym his entire life. Stevie thought maybe he owned a chain of gyms and that's where he got all his money. But like the fancy, expensive kind of gyms, not Planet Fitness.

He was walking with another super buff tall guy. This guy was younger and had stiff white hair sticking into the sky like some kind of flattop style. Broken heart earrings dangled as he talked excitedly, and his pecks peeked out from the top of his one-strap halter top. Stevie figured any guy dressed this flamboyantly probably had a lot of money, too. She could get money from them both.

Stevie turned her power on as they walked closer, but they had no auras. "Maybe they just haven't seen me yet," she told herself. They were both looking around at everyone and everything, like their heads were on swivels. About 10 feet away, they spotted Stevie, and she sighed with relief when they both began to sport a very light red aura, so faint it was almost pinkish. Alright, they had noticed her. Quickly, the younger man's aura turned a darker shade as they approached, and Stevie noticed he hadn't taken his eyes off of her. The old man's aura stayed the same, but he was glaring at her with squinted eyelids.

Stevie felt like they were staring holes through her. She began to get nervous. She hadn't even been back on land and already weird shit was happening again. Calm down, Stevie, she told herself. These guys are not vampires.

"Do you feel that?" the old man asked as they got near to her.

"Hmm, yes," he responded, "it could be coming from anywhere."

"Hi! Excuse me, men..." Stevie began and trailed off as they stopped in front of her. She was so nervous now, she felt her armpits begin to tingle with the beginning of sweat. Not only were they glaring at her, but the older man was even more beautifully handsome up close. Her mouth kind of hung open as she stared at him. She could not do it. She could not bring herself to force these guys to give her money.

"Why hello, Mademoiselle," the younger man said with a French accent, "what can we do for a beautiful lady like you?" His aura was now glowing bright red.

"Be alert, Polnareff," the old man glared. "Tell us what other stands are coming for us, and we'll spare your life," he said flatly.

"Wh..wh.. What??" Stevie stuttered. His words had caught her off-guard, and she impulsively began stepping backwards, waving her hands frantically in front of herself. "I don't know what you mean! I'm recently homeless and was just going to ask for money, I'm really sorry!" She stepped back again and tripped over the curb, falling on her ass in the street.

"Oi, Joseph, apologize to this young lady right now!" Polnareff said, rushing to take her hand and help her up. "A pretty lady doesn't ever need money," he purred, bringing her hand to his lips.

"Oooh, shit! I'm so sorry. You're just homeless, huh?" Joseph said and began nervously laughing, embarrassment creeping onto his face, "Ah, we won't kill you! Sorry, that was a total mistaken identity thing! Haha!"

He pulled out his wallet and grabbed 50 Singapore dollars. "We're really not killers, we totally don't kill people!" he continued as he put the money in Stevie's hands. "Well, gotta go!" he winked and began walking away.

"Au revoir, Mademoiselle," Polnareff said, slinking off while blowing a kiss.
