Meanwhile...
Jotaro and Joseph were sitting at the bar with drinks in their hands. Jotaro had a whiskey on the rocks. Joseph was sipping a piña colada through a straw. He twirled the mini umbrella in his drink during their awkward silence.
"Soooo..." Joseph started, "is school going well?"
Jotaro grunted. He admired the old man, but he wasn't one for small talk. Maybe a few drinks will loosen me up, he thought. He felt tired, physically and mentally, but whiskey usually perked him up. He lit a cigarette, letting the familiar smoke sting the back of his throat, and kept his eyes on the ice in his glass.
"Kakyoin told me you're something of a ladies' man at school, though he thinks he could be some competition once you guys get back," Joseph continued.
Jotaro huffed through his nose and rolled his eyes towards the old man. "Good, they're a fucking pain," Jotaro said before puffing his cigarette.
Joseph raised his eyebrows. Maybe my grandson is gay, he thought. "Jotaro..." he began. Jotaro quickly shot him a look. "Women should be treated like goddesses," Joseph continued, "don't be so disparaging towards them."
"Yare yare," he muttered. "Then they shouldn't treat me like some.. like some object!" He grabbed his glass and chugged it down. "I want to be seen for what's in my brain, not the face that's covering it," he mumbled through gritted teeth.
"Well, you look just like me. They probably can't help but swoon all over you!" Joseph said in an unhumble attempt to lighten the mood.
Jotaro motioned for the bartender to bring them another round.
"What about Stevie?" Joseph asked. Jotaro shot him another look, but he couldn't help the small grin that betrayed him. "Oh, are you blushing, Jotaro?"
"Leave it, Jiji," Jotaro replied, "unless you're trying to say you want her for yourself?"
"Like I said, women should be treated like goddesses."
"I think it's a little more than that, don't you?" Jotaro pried. He was having fun; he liked seeing his usually confident grandfather squirm under his questioning. "Don't think I haven't caught on to all your flirting."
"She's a total catch, Jotaro! What do you want me to say? Of course, if I were 30 years younger, it would be a different story. But I'm an old man with a loving wife. Still, she would make a great addition to the Joestar bloodline."
"The Joestar bloodline? What are you, like, a Nazi sympathizer or something, Jiji?"
"Well, I did know this Nazi once..." Joseph started. "Wait! No, all I'm saying is she's hot, and I'm old enough to know a good wife when I see one."
"A wife? Yare yare. You know I'm 17, right? Still in high school?"
"I met Suzi when I was 19."
"Yare yare!" Jotaro downed his drink again.
"Just try to be nice to her and see what happens!" Joseph said while waving his hands frantically in front of himself.
He smirked. "Sure, I'll be nice," he said. "She looked real cute in those pajamas you bought her. Pretty soft to cuddle, too."
"What!!" Piña colada shot out of Joseph's nose.
