CHAPTER 7

ANDEE'S POV

And you can lie with me,
with your tiny feet.
When you're half asleep,
I'll leave you be.
Right in front of me
for a couple weeks
so I can keep you safe.

"So, what made you fly all the way here from London?" my mom asked as she made herself a cup of coffee, the same routine I had watched her do every morning in grade school.

I draw in a deep breath. I know I need to tell her but I don't want her to be disappointed.

She pops an eyebrow at me. "I know my own daughter, I know something happened and you should probably tell me what it is because you know I'll find out eventually." She winks and I roll my eyes.

"Mom!" I whine.

"What?" she laughs and takes a drink of coffee, smiling over the rim of her mug. "I'm telling you like it is An, I'm in the loop even if you don't think I am!" she laughs and I roll my eyes and smile lightly.

"I don't want you to be disappointed with me." I sigh and look out the window, bringing my thumb to my mouth and biting my nail.

"I promise I won't be disappointed."  She puts her mug down, sensing my seriousness. "What's wrong baby?"

"I'm pregnant, mom." I whisper finally looking up at her.  a shocked expression crosses her features and I can't help the tears that come to my eyes.

"Say something Mom..." I say as the first tear rolls down my cheek.

"I...I..." she stutters.

"This is exactly why I don't want to Harry!" I yell throwing my hands in the air and smacking them back down on my thighs.

"What?" she says loudly, snapping out of her trance. "You're not going to tell Harry???"

"If he's going to react like you just did then I definitely don't want to." I sniffle and sit down on a bar stool putting my head in my hands.

"Sweetie, that's not something you can't tell him." she sits next to me.

"I don't want him to be unhappy..." I look up at her and she smiles sadly.

"Honey... trust me... Harry is not like the other boys you've dated, he's different, he truly loves you and I could see that every second he was here." she tucks a piece of hair behind my ear.

"I know he loves me, but this is so unexpected, he's going to be upset about it and I can't handle that..." I put my head on her shoulder when she hugs me.

"Someone who loves you won't be upset with you for this." She rubs my back.

"Then what was your reaction?" I raise my voice slightly. It's pretty obvious I'm not happy with her reaction. "You love me don't you?" I seethe and pull away from her arms.

"Honey, I'm not upset with you." she takes another drink of her coffee.

"Sure seemed like it..." I mumble and stare down at my hands.

"I was surprised, you're the only one of my kids that's organized honey." She laughs slightly. "You don't seem like the person to get pregnant without planning for it." she strokes my hair again but it has the opposite effect.

"I know that mom! I just got a new job and Harry and I have only been together for about four months! This isn't supposed to be happening to me!!!" I wring my hands through my hair.

"Honey... calm down... take a deep breath." She soothes and I follow her instructions before sitting down again. "I know this wasn't in your plan, however, you know how to hit a curveball." She smiles and I groan.
