CHAPTER 5

"Right now, I wish you were here with me. Cause right now, everything is new to me."

ESTHER'S POV

I lean my head against the cool plane window a sniffle. I'll see him in twenty one hours. Twenty one hours and it will all be okay.

*earlier that day*

I wake up to the sound of my phone ringing and I roll over, smiling when I see who it is. I swipe my finger over the screen and lay the phone on my face.

"Good Morning Darlin." Niall says and I can practically hear the smile in his voice. "Happy Valentine's day." He makes a kissy noise into the phone. "I love you."

"Hi..." I breathily sigh, a sad smile on my face, I already miss him so much.

"I woke you up didn't I?" Niall chuckles and I giggle a little with him.

"Yeah, but it's okay." I sit up so I can focus and not fall back asleep.

"Sorry, I forgot I'm eleven hours ahead of you." he mumbles.

"Niall..." I roll my eyes. "It's seriously fine, I needed to get up anyways." I giggle.

"Okay..." he trails off.

"What do you guys have today?" I turn my lamp on and play with my hair.

"Well, we have a concert later but right now we're just hanging at the venue, Payno and Tommo are playing Xbox, 5sos is at sound check." He says, making me smile as I hear Liam and Louis shouting in the background.

"Are they playing FIFA?" I laugh. In my time spent with them, I have become very familiar with their yelling at videogames, especially FIFA.

"Yep!" Niall laughs. "What have you and Andee been up to?" he asks.

"Nothing really..." I mumble, trying to not make it obvious that I'm lying. "Andee goes to work and I look for jobs and just hang out..." I trail off.

"Really?" he seems surprised, I don't blame him. I usually have some long elaborate detailed story about something funny Andee and I did. He enjoys the stories and I enjoy telling him, but all of my recent events involve Andee's secret, and I can't tell it. "Have you hung out with El at all?" he asks.

"Like twice..." we talked about plans for Baby...

"What did you guys do?" he's trying to get information out of me... he knows I'm not telling him things...

"Just got coffee mostly, or went shopping..." I nibble on my thumb nail and pray that he doesn't ask any more questions.

"Are you okay Essi?" Niall asks.

No... I'm not... my best friend is depressed, worried and stressed. I'm keeping things from you.

"Yeah I'm fine," I put a hand in my hair and frown at my fake happiness.

"You seem distant..." I can hear the uncertainty in his tone and it just makes me sadder.

"Sorry, I'm new at this long distance thing, I miss you." I look down to my lap and close my eyes.

"I'm new at it too Darlin. We'll work it out; I miss you too, so much." He sighs.

"I'm probably going to visit you soon." I make the decision finally. I've been tossing around the idea to visit him. It's a lot of money that I don't really have in the budget right now but I need to see him. It's only been a little over a week and I feel like a pussy but I need him right now. I need him to hug me and kiss me.
