Hello! This chapter ended up being so long, that it could easily be split into two. So the next chapter will be posted tomorrow for sure. (: Enjoy some Erwin fluff.

Most nights, Y/N would head back to the lab after dinner and keep working. Tonight, she had different plans. Y/N scarfed her food down, then made a beeline to pick up her journals from the lab. She couldn't help how excited she was to see Erwin again.

She already knew she was sexually attracted to him, but after last night, Y/N wanted more from him. He was funnier than she expected; she assumed he wouldn't have a sense of humor because he was always so stoic. Erwin didn't crack jokes, but his wit was quick and caught her off guard. She was smitten, and she knew it.

Y/N tried so hard to stay awake last night; all she wanted was to keep talking to him. They started off sitting at the foot of the bed, and over time they repeatedly moved to get comfortable. By the end, they were laying on their sides facing each other on top of the comforter.

Erwin smiled as he watched Y/N's eyelids slowly flutter closed. He wanted so badly to scoop her into his arms. Instead, he stood up and moved her under the comforter. As he laid back down, her eyes snapped open, surprising him.

"Oh! I'm sorry I think I fell asleep for a second." Y/N blushed.

I hope I wasn't asleep long.

"It's okay," Erwin couldn't stop his smile. He fully settled into the bed. "It is getting awfully late."

Y/N sat up with a jolt. "Erwin, I'm so sorry! I've kept you up so late. I should go."

Y/N grabbed the comforter, and Erwin's fingers clamped around her wrist. She froze and looked down at their hands. She looked at Erwin, searching for an explanation.

Erwin had a moment of panic and doubt. Y/N noticed a faint blush cross his cheeks.

"I would like you to stay," his voice was husky with his own fatigue. He added, "if you want to."

Y/N suppressed a shiver. Yes, yes, yes, yes. She smiled and said, "I'd like that."

Erwin smiled back. Y/N didn't see the silent breath he let go when she turned around to lay down on her side. She scooted back towards Erwin but stopped just short. She didn't want to be too forward, but she definitely wanted to be cuddled.

Y/N let out a gasp when Erwin's arm circled her waist, and he pulled her body flush against his. He entangled their legs as he tightened his grip around her torso. Y/N ran her fingertips up and down the arm that held her against his chest.

Erwin pressed his face into the crook of her neck and kissed her shoulder.

"When can I see you again?" His lips brushed against her skin as he spoke.

A shiver ran down Y/N's spine, and she reflexively pressed her hips back against him. He nipped at her shoulder in response.

"Quit," he chuckled. "You need to sleep. If you're not busy, you can come back tomorrow tonight."

"You don't have to work?"

Why would you ask that?? Just say yes! Y/N scolded herself.

"Well, I do have paperwork to do, but I'd rather spend time with you."

Y/N wiggled and turned around in his arms. She pulled her hands up between their chests and snuggled into him. Erwin was keenly aware of her nipples as they grazed his chest through their shirts.

"I don't want you to get behind because of me. If you want, I can bring my own work to do, and we can work together?" Y/N offered.

Erwin's heart clenched a little in his chest. She's so beautiful, and intelligent, and dedicated. He trailed the knuckle of his pointer finger down the side of her face, then moved his thumb across her lips.

"That sounds perfect."

Y/N smiled at the memory as she grabbed her journals and her favorite pen. She took the same path to Erwin's office as the night before.

As she approached his office door, she tried to calm her excitement and her heart rate. She knocked once and waited for him to answer. It took so long that Y/N wondered if he had even come back from dinner yet.

Just as she was about to go back to the lab, she heard Erwin's footsteps approaching. As soon as the door opened, he pulled her inside and into a hug. Y/N could hear the door close behind her while she relaxed into his body. She wrapped her arms around his waist and leaned her forehead against his chest.

"Are you okay?" She raised her head to look up at him, her chin rested on his sternum.

He tilted his head to the side and smiled down at her. She could see he was stressed about something. He pressed his lips against her forehead. Y/N closed her eyes and savored the soft moment.

"Yes, little one," he said with a final squeeze before he let her go. "Come in, you can set up wherever you would like."

Y/N couldn't stop smiling if she tried. While Erwin went back to his desk, Y/N sat down on the couch. A shiver ran through her as she settled into the cold leather. Erwin saw her body shudder, then he went to his bedroom.

Y/N watched him leave the office and stared at the door until he walked back through. This time he had a plush, grey blanket in his hands. He stopped next to her on the couch, then unfurled the folded blanket. He grabbed her journals in one hand and draped the blanket over her legs with the other.

"T-thank you," she said as she took back her journals.

Looking down at her, Erwin was happy that he had let her in. When he heard her knock, he considered turning her away or simply not opening the door. He didn't want to add fuel to the fire by giving people something to talk about. Wouldn't it be easier to stop now? He thought, but then he imagined the disappointment on her face. The thought of being the reason she was sad was enough to propel him to the door. The hope of playing it cool soared out of the window when she smiled up at him.

He had definitely been staring at her for too long. He started at the realization and moved back to his desk. Get it together, Erwin.
