Hi folks!

We all know the drill by now. I assume something will only be a single chapter, and it turns into two long chapters 😅 So here's two chapters, and the second is the spicy one. 😈

P.S. Shout out to Christine! Happy late birthday. Enjoy your present 😋

Y/N was feeling a bit overwhelmed. She was happy to be amongst her friends, but she didn't want to talk about what happened. Her and Dr. Clara had gone over it all so many times already; she just wanted to have a normal conversation. Y/N politely answered the first few questions her friends asked, then she tapped Reiner's knee once to get his attention.

"Can you change the subject please?" Y/N whispered when he turned to her.

He smiled softly at her and nodded.

"Yeager, do you want to train with the ODM gear today?" Reiner called across the group.

Their conversation took over the group because Eren was at the opposite end of the table. Y/N was able to fade into the group's conversation and sip her tea in peace.

If Y/N was being honest, she had forgotten Jean's confession in all the turmoil. It wasn't until their group walked up that the memory resurfaced. Now that he was sitting on the other side of Connie, his words were clear in her mind. He was polite enough in his greeting, but he hadn't spoken to her directly. He still felt a little off.

I guess that's to be expected. She sighed.

Erwin sprinted down the halls of Headquarters looking for Y/N. When he woke up, she was nowhere to be found, and the panic was quick to take over. He searched her old room, the lab, the infirmary, and Hange's office. His last options were the cafeteria and the stables.

Is this another nightmare? It feels real, but all of the nightmares have felt real too.

Erwin had been dealing with variations of this same nightmare over and over ever since Y/N came back. It would start with Erwin happily living his life knowing that Y/N was safe, then she would be gone again in an instant. No matter where he looked, no matter who he asked, he couldn't find her. More than once, he had woken up sweating and out of breath.

He ran down the stairs, praying this was another nightmare. We were finally getting back to normal.

The nearest entrance to the cafeteria was finally in his line of sight. A small group of Scouts walked through the door, and one of them gasped when she saw the Commander running at them.

"C-Commander Smith?" She asked.

The Scouts around her turned and reflexively saluted Erwin. He ignored them as he slowed to a brisk walk, then he peered into the cafeteria.

"Are you okay, sir?"

He scoured the crowd looking for their regular table. It wasn't until he saw her profile that he was able to take a deep breath.

"Yes," Erwin straightened and breathed deeply again. "Thank you."

The group of Scouts were hesitant, but they moved along.

She's fine. She's safe with her friends. Y/N smiled and laughed at something Sasha said. Thank the gods.

Erwin sighed and leaned against the doorway. He didn't even care that he was out in public in his pajamas. Y/N was safe and enjoying herself; that was all that mattered.

Logically, it made sense that Jean was there, but it didn't stop Erwin from feeling a twinge of anger when Jean happened to look over and see Erwin.
