Y/N woke up to an aching body. The night before, she had stumbled down the stairs to yet another abandoned basement, and she fell asleep the moment she hit the floor. It was obvious to her that her arm was in infected, and she was avoiding even looking at her fingertips.

She sat up and her head spun from the fatigue and hunger. On her entire journey, she hadn't managed to find anything to eat that wasn't spoiled, so she was surviving off of well-water alone. She hadn't run into any Titans yet, but she knew the closer she got to Wall Rose, the more Titans there would be.

If she had maintained a good pace yesterday, she should be about halfway to Wall Rose. However, when she finally forced herself to stand up, she knew she wouldn't be able to maintain that same pace today. She picked up her swords, and they felt heavier than usual in her grip.

Y/N shuffled out of the house and looked to the east. She watched the sunlight bleed across the purple sky.

I wonder what Erwin's doing right now. Her nerves bubbled up. He is looking for me, right?

Erwin stormed in and ignored the shouts of the MP secretary.

"We're here on the orders of Darius Zackly. Do not interfere," Levi barked.

He and the garrison soldiers followed Erwin up the stairs. Police filled the halls to see what the commotion was, but no one dared to block Erwin's path. He stopped outside of the dorm in which Ryker lived. It was the only door on the whole hall that hadn't been opened by curious MPs.

"He knows," Levi said under his breath.

Erwin nodded once then tested the doorknob. As he suspected, it was locked. Erwin sighed and took a step back. He threw his shoulder into the door, breaking the lock. The door flung open and revealed Ryker leaning against the far wall with a smirk on his face. At first, only about ten men stood between Erwin and Ryker.

Erwin's eyes never left Ryker as he walked towards him. Even as Levi and the garrison ran around him to take down the men that ran forward. As the MPs were taken down one by one, the other MPs in the room jumped to defend their roommates. Levi slid in front of Erwin to stop a punch from hitting him.

Ryker's smile fell with every step Erwin took towards him. Ryker searched for a way out or someone to help him, but he found neither.

"Funny seeing you here, Commander," Ryker let out an awkward chuckle.

Erwin cranked his arm back then slammed his fist into Ryker's cheek. He crumpled to the ground with a cry. Erwin grabbed him by the shirt and slammed him onto his back. His mind was blank as his fist collided with Ryker's face over and over again. He forgot he was supposed to ask him where Y/N was; all he knew was the sound of his knuckles cracking against his cheekbones. All the anger and frustration he had been holding back for the last three days came out at once.

At first Ryker fought back. He tried to block Erwin's attacks with his arms. When that didn't work, he tried to roll and slither away, but Erwin snatched him back and straddled him. Under the weight of Erwin, Ryker had no escape.

"Let him go!"

Erwin heard someone yelling, but it sounded far away.

Levi looked from the restrained men to Erwin and Ryker. The Garrison soldiers had wide eyes as they watched the gruesome scene. Blood spattered against the stone wall and floor with every punch Erwin landed.

"Should we... interfere?" A soldier whispered to Levi.

"No."

Levi waited another minute before he decided to step in. Erwin jolted when Levi rested his hand on Erwin's shoulder. He was a panting mess when he looked up at Levi. Blood speckled his face and his white shirt. He clenched his fists to try and stop their trembling.
