Brrr-ringgg Brrr-ringgg
Ugh groaned Meiqi. Her alarm rang for morning practice. Today they start at 9, but she was still super tired.
She headed downstairs for breakfast but found someone to be missing. 1 2 3 4 5 6. 1 2 3 4 5 6? 1 2 3 4 5 6?? Am I counting wrong? "Hey, are we missing someone? I keep counting six people", Meiqi whispered to Haoxiang.
"Ma ge got sick."
"See, I told you this man ain't healthy. Tsk tsk", said Zhengyuan, shaking his head. "He always wears a hoodie even in 80-degree weather. No way could he not get sick wearing only a t-shirt yesterday."
"I just checked his temperature. He has a 101-degree fever. He's not going to practice today", said Chengxin as he was making congee.
This is all my fault, thought Meiqi. She was about to go see him, but she heard Yaowen yell, "the car is outside," meaning they had to go. I'll see how he is when I get back then.
Dance practice went smoother today. Chengixn and her didn't talk much since they were just focusing on their own moves for now, but Meiqi was fine with that. She was just anxious about when they had to start dancing together, that was a barrier that Meiqi didn't want to think about for now.
"Not bad for today. About two more days before we start going over the small details. Keep it up", said Jackson
"Ding Ge, it's time to go", said Haoxiang as he opened the door to their practice room. Go? Go where?, thought Meiqi. She thought they were going to practice till night again, but it was only 5 pm right now.
Haoxian turned to Meiqi, "Meiqi, manager said you can go home and rest for the rest of the day. We have to go to a photoshoot today, so class is ending early".
Well, today ended rather quickly then. But that meant she could finally have some time for herself which she had been yearning for. Chengxin headed for the door and then turned around and said, "Can you check up on Jiaqi for me when you get home. I'm kind of worried about him".
Meiqi had completely forgotten that Jiaqi was sick. Guilt flooded over her again. "Yea of course", after all it was her fault.
"Thanks", Chengxin said with a smile. Cute smile... Meiqi, you really need to stop it. She didn't want to keep thinking about him.
As TNT headed to their car to go to their photoshoot, Meiqi decided to go back to a nearby restaurant to buy food for Jiaqi. Chengxin's congee looked rather tasteless...
---------------------------------------------------------------------
She bought a bowl of fish congee and noodles for Jiaqi in case he didn't want to eat congee anymore and headed home. She looked around to see if Jiaqi was awake but couldn't find him anywhere else, so she decided to knock on his door. No response. He must still be sleeping then. She cracked open the door to check.
Jiaqi was sleeping peacefully. He looked really cute asleep... Meiqi, what is wrong with you today. Stop having so many weird thoughts. Meiqi wanted to check if Jiaqi was still having a fever but couldn't find the thermometer. She didn't think it was ok just to touch him with her bare hands but maybe if she just slightly put her hand on his forehead. Hmm.. what should I do.
She decided to just lightly place her hand down and see if his fever had gone down. However, she found herself staring at Jiaqi for longer than she thought. To the point that he had woken up and opened his eyes. "What are you doing?", asked Jiaqi half asleep.
Meiqi jumped, lifting her hand off right away. "Sorry, I was just trying to see if your fever went away". Meiqi was embarrassed but tried to keep calm. I wonder if he saw me staring at him.
"I'm a lot better now. Thanks for checking on me. Where's the rest of them?", asked Jiaqi.
"Haoxiang said you guys have a photoshoot today. They left at 5."
"Oh crap. I totally forgot about that. I wonder if I can still make it in time if I go now."
"I think you should rest a little more. What if you go and get sick again",
"I think I'm fine no- achoo achoo. Fine now", said Jiaqi with a sniffle.
"Uhh that doesn't look very fine to me. I got you congee and noodles for dinner. You can choose what you want to eat".
"Oh ok thanks a lot. I was going to eat cup noodles for dinner tonight if it weren't for you". "Do you wanna know a secret ", said Jiaqi slightly smirking.
"What secret", Meiqi asked curiously.
"Chengxin's congee..."
"Tastes like nothing," Meiqi said finishing his sentence.
Jiaqi laughed, "Yea how'd you know".
"From the looks of it... it doesn't look too good"
"Yea, it really does not taste good", said Jiaqi with a scrunched-up face.
Meiqi remembered that she needed to apologize to Jiaqi. He wouldn't have been half-dead this morning if it wasn't for her. "I'm really sorry about yesterday. You wouldn't be sick if it weren't for me". Jiaqi brushed it off, waving his hand, "Don't be sorry, I'm the one that offered to give you my hoodie. If anything you can blame my weak immune system. I needa get stronger like Zhengyuan. Maybe if I had some muscles, I won't get sick as often."
Meiqi laughed, "I don't think it works like that. I'll get you some vitamins tomorrow. That will probably help more".
Jiaqi suddenly remembered the conversation he had earlier yesterday with Meiqi about them meeting when they were younger. "Oh yea, I wanted to ask about what we were talking about yesterday. You said you met me when we were younger."
Meiqi could finally tell Jiaqi. Just ask, she was about to explain to him the door opened. "MA GEEE"
