Ding Chengxin POV

Chengxin stayed up all night that night, no one had seen Meiqi. He decided to wait outside Meiqi's dorm until she got home. He paced back and forth for hours. It was 1 am now. He saw someone coming towards his way. Except it wasn't just someone, it was two people. He looked a little harder and realized it was Meiqi with someone. That was someone was Jiaqi.

He was heartbroken. Did Meiqi choose Jiaqi? Although Chengxin had expected this result it still broke him when he saw them together. He squinted a little harder and saw Jiaqi holding Meiqi's hand. So I guess she did choose Jiaqi over him. He immediately started walking away because tears were now falling down. He didn't want either of them to see him like that.

When he finally got back to his house he finally broke down completely. He was sobbing so hard that his pillow was soaked. Zhengyaun had gone downstairs for water, he was worried about his singing evaluation for tomorrow and couldn't sleep. He heard the noise and went over to see Chengxin. "Ding Er are you ok?". Chengxin waved his hand off. He didn't want to be bothered by anyone.

Zhengyuan was too concerned to just leave Chengxin. "Do you want to talk about it?", he continued to ask. Chengxin stayed silent. "Is this about Meiqi?". Chengxin didn't reply but finally sat up on the couch.

Zhengyuan went to turn the lights on. "Holy shit, your eyes", Zhengyuan exclaimed. Chengxin cried so much that his eyes were beyond just puffy and red. It looked like he was having an allergic reaction with how badly it was puffed. "It's fine", Chengxin said. That would be tomorrow's worry.

Zhengyuan sat down next to Chengxin. "Do you want to talk about it now". Chengxin hesitated for a second but began explaining what had happened earlier the day when he saw Meiqi run off. And then what he saw when he was outside waiting at Meiqi's dorm. Most importantly how Meiqi was holding Jiaqi's hand. "So are they officially dating now?".

Chengxin shrugged. He wanted to know too. Zhengyuan suddenly jumped up. "Wait is Jiaqi not home yet?" Chengxin hadn't even noticed but if he had gotten home before Jiaqi then Jiaqi definitely still wasn't home yet. He pointed at the shoes, "His shoes aren't there. So he's not back yet".

"Dude it's literally 3 am. Where can he even be."

"Maybe he's at Meiqi's dorm. Where else can he be, he brought her home anyways".

"If anyone in our company finds out he's actually going to be dead. Headline title, if the media finds out "Ma Jiaqi Sleeps at Trianee's Dorm".

"He made that choice himself, he will suffer the consequences if that happens".

"This isn't just about him, this is about our whole group. Also does this mean you're not going to talk to him anymore. How are we gonna do anything together if you guys don't talk".

Chengxin didn't want to think about that, he was having enough of a headache with his current situation. Zhengyuan suddenly remembered what Jiaqi had told him about knowing Meiqi since he was a child. He hesitated on whether he should tell Chengixn or not but it seemed like he might as well spill everything now.

"Did you know Jiaqi knew Meiqi since he was a kid", Zhengyuan asked.

"What??", Chengxin was confused.

Zhengyuan proceeded to tell Chengxin everything that Jiaqi had told him the other day when they were on the Ferris wheel. "So you're telling me Jiaqi and Meiqi are literally destined to be", Chengxin scoffed. He couldn't believe this. No wonder Meiqi would choose Jiaqi over him.

"I mean to be fair, the chances of all of this happening is like 0.0001% so it's pretty crazy that they ended up meeting each other again".

"Yea... you're right. Guess it means it's over for me", Chengxin sighed.

"You can still care for her and talk to her you know", Zhengyuan paused for a second. "You know, I realized I said the exact same thing to Jiaqi the other day on the Ferris wheel line. Ugh, you two are so similar- cps for life", he jokingly said.

Chengxin glared at him. "Well not anymore... but yea like I said, just because Jiaqi is her boyfriend doesn't mean you can't talk to her. You guys can still be friends". Chengxin nodded.

"Since when did you become such a love expert", Chengxin said slightly laughing. "Why am I taking advice from someone that's never been in a relationship"

"Didn't you hear the people with the best advice are the single people duhhh. We have a clear perspective unlike people in relationships. Also, how would you know that I've never been in a relationship"

Chengxin raised his eyebrow. "Yea just kidding, I've never been in one. But I'm clearly the relationship expert here." They talked for a little longer. "Shittt dude it's 5 am. We're so screwed for practice, we're gonna be half dead." Chengxin let out a sigh, he didn't even want to go to practice tomorrow. How was he going to face the two of them.

Zhengyuan spent the rest of the night with Chengxin in attempt to make him feel better. They both slept on the couch that night.
