Jackson attentively listened and then let out a sigh. He softened up, after hearing the situation. "How much do you like Meiqi?" Chengxin thought for a second, "I don't know. A lot".

"And how much does Jiaqi like Meiqi?". Chengxin's face scrunched up at the mention of Jiaqi, it was more of a distressed expression. "I don't know."

"You seem to not know a lot of things kiddo". Chengxin sighed, he didn't even know himself well enough, how would he know how much Jiaqi liked Meiqi. "Have you ever gone through this?", Chengxin asked curiously. Jackson let out a laugh, "Dude you're funny. You think I have time to think about girls. I debuted when I was a kid. There was no way I was gonna have a girlfriend. And even if I liked someone, if the public found out it'd be over for me".

"So you've never liked anyone before?".

Jackson's expression showed a sorrowful smile. "I have. Still do."

"Who?!", Chengxin hadn't expected this answer. Jackson stayed silent for a while staring at the floor. Chengxin kept looking at Jackson, "Liu Hao Cun?", Chengxin asked. Jackson let out a slight laugh, "It's that obvious?".

"I actually didn't know, I was just guessing. But I know they (TNT) mention it sometimes."

"Y'all are so nosy"

"Not me, them. So are you ever gonna tell Cun Jie?", Jackson looked at him for a second and let out a sigh. "I don't know, probably not. You know how it is when rumors go out. I don't want to make it hard for her."

Chengxin nodded, he understood where Jackson was coming from, last time someone from their company announced they were dating there was an uproar in the media and the senior almost had to terminate their contract. "Are you gonna tell Meiqi then?" Chengxin let out another sad smile, "I already did." Jackson looked at him shocked. "You told her?! Wow, I did not expect that from you, Xiao Ding. Look at you, even braver than me", he said patting Chengxin on the back.

"It doesn't matter though, it's not like she likes me back."

Jackson looked confused, "What do you mean she doesn't like you. It looks like she definitely does like you. She wouldn't be apologizing if she didn't."

"She likes Jiaqi.", Chengxin replied

"How can you be so sure? It doesn't seem like that to me. She hasn't spoken to Jiaqi at all the past few days when you were gone for your drama shoot."

Chengxin paused for a second. He wanted to believe that Meiqi actually liked him but that would just be false hope. He shook his head again, "I don't know. I told her to forget what I said the other day, didn't want her to feel pressured. And ultimately if she likes Jiaqi, she should be with him. Not me". Jackson patted Chengxin on the back again.

"Friend or girl that you like, who would you choose?", Chengxin suddenly asked.

"So, Karry and Roy vs Hao Cun? Is what you're asking? You might as well ask if my mom vs the two of them two fell into the ocean who would I save", Jackson said laughing.

"Well, that question works too I guess", Chengxin replied laughing.

"I don't know. Karry and Roy aren't just my friends, we're family. Brothers. I can't tell you who I would choose. But you know, just because you choose to compete with Jiaqi doesn't mean you're automatically giving up your friendship with Jiaqi. You guys have been through thick and thin for so many years."

"Yea... I know but you've seen how awkward things have gotten between me and him. I feel like it's either one or the other.", Chengxin sighed.

"I don't know what to tell you, none of us (seniors) have gone through this. But whatever choice you make, just make sure you're happy and you don't regret it. Better to regret what you did than to regret what you never took the chance to do."

Chengxin nodded, intaking Jackson's advice. He was right.

"Are you sure she doesn't like you? Going with my intuition, I feel like there's hope."

Chengxin shrugged, "Whatever her choice, I'll respect it."

Meiqi had been standing outside the entire time and heard everything. She had meant to go back in real quick to get something but stopped when she heard Chengxin talking. She was now holding back her tears, trying to stop herself from making any noise by putting her hand over her mouth.

"Meiqi, what are you doing, are you ok?", Yaxuan asked as he had came to ask Jackson something. "Shhhh", she said, trying to make sure Chengxin didn't know she was outside and had heard everything. But it was too late. Both of them got up to see what the commotion was about, Meiqi sprinted off.

Chengxin peeked his head out and saw a female figure running down the hall. "Has she been here the entire time?", he urgently asked Yaxuan. "I don't know, I just got here. But she was crying and covering her mouth to not make noise." Chengxin ran down the hall immediately after hearing that.

Chengxin couldn't find Meiqi anywhere for the rest of the day. He didn't know if she was avoiding him but he was extremely worried. To the point that he even asked Jiaqi if he knew where she was, this was the first time they had spoken since the incident but even he didn't know. Hearing Chengxin ask about where she was made Jiaqi worried as well. He wondered if she was going to show up tonight, regardless he would wait. While everyone went to the car to go back home, Jiaqi waved goodbye and said he had something to do. He didn't explain what or why, instead just walked off.
