She was shivering from her wet clothes. Dammit, I knew it was a bad idea to play that game.
Jiaqi saw Meiqi shivering but this time he didn't offer his hoodie. He still hadn't figured out how to break the tension between the three of them. He chose to keep walking.
Yaowen ran to the area with the ferris wheel and pointed. "Let's go!!". Meiqi stood back. "Meiqi, you're not gonna go?", Yaowen asked.
"Uh no. I'm ok. I have a really bad fear of heights." They waited in line in pairs, Yaowen and Yaxuan. Haoxiang and Junlin. Jiaqi usually went with Chengxin but he went with Zhengyuan this time. "Ding Er, why aren't you coming?", Zhengyuan asked.
"Did you forget, I'm scared of heights too."
"Oh yea, I remember you almost cried last time we had to be on safety ropes for our performance. Then what are you gonna do?".
"I'll just stay behind with Meiqi." Jiaqi glanced at them when Chengxin said that. He much rather be the one staying with Meiqi but there was nothing he could do now. The line got longer and longer, Chengxin thought it would be better if they waited elsewhere.
"Let's just roam around till they finish.", he suggested. Meiqi nodded, it was better than just awkwardly standing there. Chengxin tried to break these past few days of tension, "So you finally get to move out and not have to deal with us clowns anymore. Aren't you glad."
Meiqi smiled sorrowfully, if only he knew I actually wanna stay. "Thanks for housing me these two weeks. Sorry for all the trouble that I caused...", her voice trailed off. She had brought up the topic they had all been avoiding. Chengxin longingly looked at Meiqi. He wished she could continue living with them instead.
"Let's just forget about that. I don't want it to continue being awkward. I know the 3 of us have been avoiding each other these few days but we can't continue like this." "This is the longest I've gone without talking to Jiaqi...", he whispered. "And you can ignore what I said that day. Whether you feel the same or not is your choice. You don't need to feel pressure because of it", Chengxin spilled everything he had been wanting to say for the past few days and felt much better. Meiqi nodded, she was so glad he finally addressed the issues because she didn't know how to say it herself.
"Thanks. I'm really sorry about you and Jiaqi, and I'm sorry if I confused you because I'm confused myself..."
"Confused about...?", Chengxin asked even though he knew what she was referring to. He still wanted to hear it from herself.
"You know... I never really interacted with guys before I got to TF Ent. It's weird being around so many at once now, but I know very clearly I treat the others (TNT) like brothers. I'm just not sure what I think about you and Jiaqi."
"It's ok. I get it. I wouldn't know how to choose between me and Jiaqi either", he said jokingly trying to make the situation better. Meiqi mustered up a laugh. They looked back to see where the other members were in line but there was still quite a while to go. Chengxin pointed to the flying dart game. "You wanna play that?", Meiqi nodded and followed him, it wasn't like there was anything better to do. Meiqi went first and needless to say her aim was not too great. In fact, it went straight past the dartboard and onto the floor. "Oops", she said. Chengxin laughed staring at her, what a cute girl. Meiqi caught him staring and he quickly looked away. "Your turn", she said handing the dart to him.
Chengxin hit bullseye on the first try. Meiqi cheered, "WOOO you're so good wth. Why am I so bad". The worker turned to Chengxin, "Congrats!, you get to choose a prize", he said pointing to the array of stuffed animals that he could pick from. Chengxin looked around and chose a brown bear, he had seen Meiqi looking at it while they were playing. "Here, for you", he said handing it to her.
