Sunday comes around sooner than Dream had expected.
One minute the blonde is rolling in his bed complaining about Sapnap's loud noise at nine in the morning, and the next he's receiving a text of George's address.
He makes his way across campus until he's at George's dorm building, which looks surprisingly nice—way nicer than Dream's, for some reason. The blonde makes his way through the empty hallways, wondering what George's dorm room looks like. He wonders if it's as clean and perfect as he is, or messy and unorganized. He hopes it's the latter, at least then he'll be superior to George.
He makes it to room 404 and knocks, waiting patiently for it to be opened.
He hears the click of a lock and the door handle being turned, opening all the way for Dream to see George standing there. He looks far too casual for his own good, and Dream can't decide whether he hates it or loves it. He must hate it.
"Hey, come in," George says with a smile, moving over to let him in. Dream doesn't even give him a greeting, walking straight into the room.
It's a large room, about the size of Dream's, but he notices there is only one bed. He also notices blue, and lots of it. In fact, everything is blue, besides the paintings and clothes that litter the room.
His room isn't necessarily dirty, but it's far from clean and organized. There's paintings and easels everywhere, a few clothes folded on the ground too, and Dream notices that this place seems like less of a home and more of a hotel room. If he had to guess, Dream would say this looks more like an art storage closet than a dorm room.
"Sorry it's messy, I get carried away when painting and sometimes just forget to clean up after," George says, moving his school supplies to make room on his desk for Dream to sit at.
"It's cool," Dream says, looking around. "Why is everything blue?"
"It's my favorite color," George says with a half smile.
"That's boring," Dream replies.
"Well I'm colorblind, so it's one of the only colors I can see," George shrugs, and Dream feels a little bad for saying it's boring. Not bad enough to apologize, though.
"That's unfortunate," Dream says, peeling his eyes away from the art that graces the walls. His art looks different outside the classroom. They're more beautiful, seemingly driven by passion rather than the need to get a good grade. Dream admires them, and it only makes him hate George even more. "I suppose I should show you my paintings."
George nods and Dream takes his laptop out, going to his saved photos. He finds a folder with all of his paintings and passes the device to George, who scrolls through them with an unreadable expression on his face.
"They're beautiful," George says.
"I know," Dream says with a smirk, and George glares at him.
"You're an asshole," George rolls his eyes and passes the laptop back. "You can obviously see some of mine on my walls and floor," George moves to his closet and opens it up, revealing about ten paintings and hardly any clothes. "But I keep the ones with most meaning to me in here."
Dream stands up and walks over to the closet, looking through each of them. These ones are way darker than the others. These ones look like they've been dragged through hell and back, and they're pretty much the opposite of Dream's paintings. Dream must not have paid attention to George's paintings in the past, because these are much different. He didn't think George's style was so morbid.
"They're captivating," Dream finds himself saying, not knowing the right words to explain the way these paintings make him feel. They make him feel unknown emotions—rage, maybe? It's almost like he can feel George's emotions through them, and he doesn't know if he loves or hates it.
