Sapnap had been sitting on his bed staring at the wall when Dream bursts through the door.

"Fucking hell," Sapnap says, this being the first time he's seen his best friend in their room since before George's arrival. He notices the large box of cake in his hands and his interest is piqued. "What's that?"

"Cake," Dream shrugs, setting it down and making his way to his bed, plugging in his phone.

"Obviously, dipshit, I mean why do you have a whole cake?" Sapnap asks, trying to better understand the blonde's weird antics.

"I went out with George today and we baked a cake," he says nonchalantly as if his words don't confuse the hell out of Sapnap.

"So why are you bringing it here uneaten?" Sapnap asks, skeptical for some reason or another. He doesn't know if he has a reason to question his friend's actions.

"I don't know," Dream mumbles, shrugging. He takes his shoes off and jumps into bed with a sigh. "Guess we forgot to try it."

"I assume you were too caught up in George's "beautiful brown eyes" to finish the cake right?" Sapnap rolls his eyes, and Dream only shrugs again, seeming tired. "Right?"

"I don't know," Dream says, sounding aggravated. "Just- can we go to sleep? I'm tired."

"Yeah sure," Sapnap mumbles, now wondering if he said anything to upset his roommate.

Sapnap doesn't understand Dream's sudden bitter mood, but has a feeling it has something to do with George. He doesn't understand, as the blonde had seemed so content before. He figures it's probably none of his business, so he lets Dream turn the lights off and go to bed early that night.

"Hey, do you want to hang out or something today? You can bring George along and I'll invite Alex too," Sapnap says from his bed when Dream is finally awake and functioning.

"Can't, I told Drista I'd help her with college preparations today and give her a virtual tour of campus," Dream says, getting up and putting on clothes for the day.

"You're not spending every waking second with George? I'm surprised," Sapnap jokes, though a part of him is serious about his words.

"Not everything's about him," Dream snaps, giving his friend an annoyed look. "Listen, I'll be back later. Sorry I can't go out, maybe another day."

"Yeah sure, see you," Sapnap mumbles, retreating to the bathroom. He listens for the closing of the front door to leave, walking out once the room is free of an angry Dream.

Sapnap scoffs to himself and collapses back into bed. He has nothing to do now, not wanting to go out anymore. He could text Alex, but figures he'll try to drag Sapnap to a party or something—usually he'd say yes, but today he's not in the mood. He could ask George, but doesn't think he can tolerate the Brit today, hardly having enough energy himself.

Now he's truly bored, and he spends time doing homework—yes, homework on a Saturday—and listening to music.

Suddenly, he thinks of Karl.

Fuck.

He'd spent so long removing the fair haired man from his thoughts after he left him heartbroken. Ever since he showed up again at campus those couple of weeks ago, Sapnap can't get him out of his head. It's terrible, he thinks, and he doesn't know why his heart is so intent on keeping Karl when his mind knows it's a bad idea. Having hope is something dangerous, in Sapnap's case.

Sapnap thought it was a good idea to sleep around in order to take his thoughts off of Karl. Unfortunately, this never worked very well, as his mind had replaced each of these hookups with Karl—even the female ones.
