“MacKayla Jackson?”

“Yes?”

“He’ll see you now”

“Thank you”

“Ms. Jackson?” he called me as I entered his office. I looked up to notice the most handsome man I’ve ever seen. He had perfect gray eyes, piercing into my soul; his lips placed a sweet smile on his face, and his hands rubbed his chin as his elbow was placed on the desk, holding him up.

“Hello Mr. Grey” I replied as I tried not to stutter.

“Please take a seat” he pointed to the seat across his as he crossed his right leg over his left. “Do you have your resume with you?”

“Yes, yes I do” I took out the sheet of paper from my bag and handed it to him, forcing myself to not look at him too much.

He scanned over it as he quietly read everything. There wasn’t much on it; I wasn’t very experienced. I had worked in a few retail stores and coffee houses, but I never had a job where I could do what I loved. I applied for a job as a fashion assistant at Grey’s Designs. I loved fashion and everything about it. I knew what was in and what wasn’t. I wanted to create new trends and new outfits, but I needed some background in that as well. That’s why I’m here at Grey’s Designs to get my dream job. But right now, it’s just an internship, since I’m still in college. But maybe soon, it’ll change. But first, I have to get through this interview without stuttering or staring at him too much.

“You’ve never had any experience in a real company, besides some retail stores and coffee shops?” he asked me as he cocked his head to one side.

“No sir, I don’t, but if you give me the chance to work here, I can prove to you that I’m perfect for this job. I have the passion for fashion and I know what people want to wear and what’s in and what’s out. I know I’m not experienced, but sir, if you give me a chance, I won’t let you down” I spilled out. He stared at me; his fingers stroked his chin as he processed what I just said and looked back at my resume.

“Hmm” he thought to himself, still not giving me an answer. “What are you wearing right now? It’s definitely not from our clothing line”

“No it is not. Actually sir, I made this” I pointed at my white ruffled shirt, black skirt, and blazer.

“You made that?” he raised an eyebrow in surprise.

“Yes, I’ve made most of clothes, as going back to the passion for fashion” I cheered, then judging my actions. He chuckled a bit, and wow, that was the most beautiful sound I have ever heard. His laugh was like a bell to my ears. I could hear him laughing all the time.

“You have skill. I can see that. And experience comes with opportunities” he stated.

I nodded my head, unsure of where he was going with this. Was I going to get the job or not?

“Well, are you free next week?”

“What?” I asked shocked.

“You may not have experience, but I’m willing to give you a chance. I can see you’re very passionate, and what you made yourself is amazing and professional. We can start you next week?” he clarified.

“Thank you sir. It’d be an honor for me to work here. Thank you so much!” I was so happy; I couldn’t hold in my emotions.

“The feeling’s mutual. And please, call me Chris”

“Yes si- I mean Chris” I smiled, and he returned it.

“You’ll receive your job descriptions via email and if you have any questions, please give me a call or just simply email me” he handed me his card from his desk.

“Thank you”

“See you Monday Ms. Jackson”

“You too Chris?” He smiled as I walked out the door.

What just happened? I got the job! But why doesn’t he call me MacKayla? I can call him by his first name.

Whatever, I still got the job!
