Amy woke up to her alarm going off, she had a table reading in four hours. She eagerly turned it off and wiped her hand down her face. Golden threads of morning light transformed her night dreaming into an ambient optimism. The absences of Quip and Yadi her maltipoos was clearly noticeable, Amy had given them to her sister Rachel to look after while she was away in Budapest. Amy slipped from her warm covers and ambled her way to the bathroom, she opened the window and turned on the fan before she got her shower going.
After her shower, Amy wrapped herself in her dressing gown while she dried her hair. She pulled on a slightly oversized apricot coloured woolen turtleneck jumper and dark grey skinny jeans. On after thoughts, Amy decided to curl her hair and aply nude makeup. It wasn't loads. "First impressions," she whispered to herself, "first impressions."
Throughout the entire morning, Amy had been going through her lines out loud from memory. She'd even tried to get fully into character. Amy was really excited to play her favourite character Ambrosia Dawn. Ambrosia, or Ambrose as Kaz called her, was a complex character, she was mostly known as her legend name The Vampress. One mention of her on the streets of Ketterdam, and you'd freeze an entire population. But of course, Amy was nervous. She only knew one person there, but she hadn't spoken to him in years. She'd met Freddy back when they studied at the same Drama University for three years.
After she felt presentable, Amy made her way downstairs. She opened the curtains before walking into the kitchen, she made herself a bagel and coffee to go. She pulled on her boots before making sure she had everything, phone, coat, keys and of course her script. She pulled on her coat and hung her handbag over her shoulder as she walked to her front door, she unlocked it and stepped out into the morning air. Amy let out a content smile as she locked the door.
When she first heard that Netflix would be adapting The Grishaverse into a show, her favourite book series, she squealed. But now she'd been casted to play her favourite character from the books, saying she was nervous would be an understatement.
She ate her bagel on the way in the car, she couldn't stop smiling. Her nerves attacked her again when she got out the car, she clutched her coffee tight and hung her bag over her shoulder as she looked around.
Amy took up her courage, and walked inside the building. A couple of staff members greeted her a 'good morning' as she passed by them, she returned the gesture. She followed the directions to the room where the script reading was going to take place and eventually, she made it. Amy took in a deep breath as she pushed the door open, she was soon swarmed with good mornings and a few introductions from the other cast members.
Freddy stood up with a warm smile as she made her way to the table, when she reached him, Amy wrapped him in a hug. "Frederick James Carter," she joked, "how lovely it is to see you again."
"All the same, Amy," Freddy smiled as they parted the hug. He let her go introduce herself to cast members she hadn't already spoken to.
"If it isn't the famous Amy," Ben Barnes teased as he introduced her to the others, "here we have Calahan, Danielle and most importantly your characters love interest Freddy but, I'm guessing you already know Fredster?"
Amy rolled her eyes playfully, "yep, we both studied at Oxford School of Drama for three years."
Ben pouted and nodded in approval before he let her greet Calahan and Danielle. She then took her seat between Freddy and Amita and placed her coffee on the table.
"We meet again Mr. Love Interest," Amy joked as she turned her head towards him. "It does seem that way doesn't Miss Vampress?" Freddy smiled as he put his coffee back down on the table.
"If everyone's here, let's get started," Eric, the director, announced as the cast and producers took their seats.
The meeting ended at roughly around eight at night, everyone was starting to get a little drowsy and unfocused so they had decided to wrap up early than the time scheduled, giving time for the cast members to get to know each other.
"Oh my!" Amy giggled as she showed Freddy her phone, "look what just showed up in my memories!"
"Oh wow," Freddy put a hand over his eyes the moment he looked at her phone. It was a photo of him wrapped in a blanket, she decided to share them.
The night ended at about midnight, the cast had decided to eat dinner together in a restaurant nearby. The night was spent with laughter and random conversations, the cast grew fond of each other just after meeting hours ago.
