The night was coming to a close, which was good in one sense otherwise the amount of drunk people in the room would get severely out of control. Amy found herself sitting down at the piano positioning the microphone to fit her height while trying to ignore the amount of eyes she felt on her.
When she finally looked up she smiled, "this is one I've been writing for the past couple of weeks, make sure to add it to your Christmas Playlists when and if I release it."
((December Song by Peter Hollens))
At that moment she heard several cheers from the tables in which cast and crew members sat at. Amy took a deep breath in before she started playing the soft notes of the introduction. "In December we give our gifts wishing well to our world, peace on earth to everyone. A time to be joyful, when all is calm and all is bright." Amy let herself smile, she hadn't sung live in ages. "But why, does it change with the seasons? And why can't we just hold on?"
After she finished playing the outro she let out the breath she didn't realise she'd been keeping in with a laugh as a polite wave of clapping chorused the room - harmonised by wolf whistling from a few of her friends and Freddy.
Amy was about to leave when Kit started a chant,"more, more, more!"
Amy laughed into the mic, "original or-"
"Yes!" Ben shouted causing a bubble of laughter.

Amy thought for a moment before repositioning her hands on the piano. It only took a few notes for Freddy to recognise the song as one she'd written back in university and released on Spotify a couple of years ago making it so he could have it on replay. He couldn't help but smile, he knew every heartfelt word to that song.
"God knows what is hiding in those weak and drunken hearts. Guess you kissed the girls and made them cry, those hard-faced Queens of misadventure." Amy glanced over at Freddy, wanting to see if he'd remember it, to see him what seemed to be him singing along with her. "God knows what is hiding in those weak and sunken eyes. Fiery throngs of muted angels, giving love but getting nothing back, oh."
But what she couldn't see was the shimmer to his eyes, he'd longed for longer than he could remember to hear her sing that song again.
"Know the song well Freddy?" Ben asked, nudging his arm.
"You could say that."
"I will, considering you're mumbling every word while crying."
"I am not crying."
"No," Archie smirked,"but you're dying to."
"I wish I could listen to this forever," Amita sighed, resting her head on her hand.
"I mean, technically you can, she's released it on Spotify." Freddy told her.
Kit pulled out his phone, "I didn't know Amy had music on Spotify." He began scrolling through her profile and listened to the couple of second previews of the songs.
Once the clapping began Kit shouted at the top of his voice, "sing lost it all!"
"Have you just found my Spotify by any chance?" Amy laughed into the mic, "last one. That already with you Kit?"
"Fine and dandy!"
(You guessed it, lost it all by Birdy)
Amy couldn't complain, she genuinely loved playing this one. "Give a little time to me, give a little trust and you'd see, give a little peace of mind.
You never know what you might find."
