Amy Witty hated Christmas.

Okay, maybe that was a little much. It's not that she hated the whole holiday, just the excessive food, mass of flashing lights and how everybody was expected to be lovely all the time just for one month. Amy couldn't understand why everyone couldn't be that warm and jolly all year round, wishing peace on earth always. Not to change with the season.

"You just hate is because of how Jack treated you," Rachel said through the speakerphone while Amy made the bed. "You're with Freddy now, he's different and you know it!" Amy was tugging at the bedsheets with a slight vengeance as she recounted her reasons for her hatred of the holiday. "You had no problem with it before you met him."

A frustrated sigh burst out of her lips, "its not because of how Jack treated me and I know Freddy is different so it's none of that."

"Well what is it then?" A rather eager Rachel spoke, unlike her younger sister, she was looking forward to the entire holiday, like usual, and was just trying to get Amy back into the spirit.

"I thought I'd get spend it with all you guys but I'm stuck over here."

"Yeah maybe you are, but you're doing what you love with people you love. You have to admit that."

Amy sighed softly as she fell back onto the now made bed, the sound of Freddy's shower turning off in another room, "yeah you're right."

"Too right I am!" Rachel laughed, "where is lover boy anyway?"

Amy soundlesly chuckled, "in the shower."

"And you're not in there with him?"

Amy moved her head quickly to the direction of the phone and scowled, "fuck off!"

The sound of Rachel's laughter echoed, "alright alright."

Amy rolled her eyes.

"Ooh I have an idea!" Rachel spoke up, Amy dreaded what idea she had in mind. "Why don't you write a Christmas song?"

"Oh no no no I'll be having none of that," Amy soon put the idea away.

"Oh come on!" Rachel whined, "you haven't wrote a song in ages and now you've got a reason! Come on it might put you in the spirit, you could write how your feelings on the holiday you know the real reason."

Amy sighed, feeling herself cave at Rachel's pretty good argument, "fine, let's hope this hotel has a piano."

Rachel squealed, "yes! Now I have to go but I'll talk to you later!"

Amy rolled onto her stomach and held onto the phone in front of her, "alright, bye Rach."

"Bye Amy."

After Rachel hung up Amy rolled onto her back and let out a long sigh as she stared up at the ceiling. She was just about to close her eyes when a soft voice spoke from the doorway, "you alright?"

Amy tilted her head to the side and saw Freddy leant on the open doorframe with her arms crossed, eyebrows furrowed and wet hair draped to the side. She sighed as she turned her head to look back at the ceiling, "yeah."

Freddy softly moved from the doorway and onto the bed, he laid down on it correctly but with his feet near the pillow. He studied her face as she closed her eyes, it was clear something was bothering her, she hadn't been the same since Christmas had started getting mentioned. Conscious of Freddy reading her face she sat up, with her legs dangling off the bed, and stared out of the window into the early morning.

Freddy sat up slightly and moved closer to her, he used one of his arms to keep him stable at the angle and the other to move her hair from her shoulder. Amy loosened slightly when she felt him bury his face into her neck and slide his hand down to her side. She couldn't help but smile a little as he began placing delicate kisses on her shoulder and up her neck towards her ear. She found it very soothing, which is why he did it.
