TW- ED, SH in bold
The date was the 16th October 2013. To Amy, breakfast tasted like giving up. Lunch tasted like failure. And dinner tasted of disgust. Things like that always lead her to being hunched over a bathroom scale shrine, crying into a giant white bowl.
She only felt pretty when she was hungry.
The locked bathroom door and toothbrush had become her best friends, and the blade shunned her for having to do it anyway because she should be thin already. But she was, she just couldn't see it. Her distorted views stopped her from seeing the truth.
If you develop an eating disorder when you are already thin to begin with, you go to the hospital.
If you develop an eating disorder when you are not thin to begin with, you are a success story.
So she evaporated. She got thinner and thinner and she hid it pretty well.
Until sirens had to be called by someone who's arms she laid unconscious in. Freddy knew about the bullying she was going through from her ex Adam and his friends, but he had no idea it had lead to this.
The date was the 3rd of February 2015. Amy ate more now, she got out of bed easier and didn't push people away.
But there was one thing that stayed the same, and she doubted would ever change. It's something that sits in an old earing box in the drawer next to her bed.
It was the silver thing that painted red ribbons onto her once blank canvas. It was the thing that brought burning pain she thought she deserved. It was the thing she kept hidden from everyone else, her own little secret.
The date was now the 23rd of November 2019. Amy ate normally now, at least how you'd expect her to. Her weight was still forever fluctuating but it wasn't something worrying.
The scars on her arm had almost faded, and the ones on her inner thighs still remained.
While she no longer painted in red with silver, she still kept her paintbrush with her.
She had only Freddy to thank for all her recovery, for he was the reason she got help, the reason she survived.
She also had Freddy to thank again for her being okay after last night.

Freddy watched her sleep through the blinds in the viewing window from the hallway, she looked so peaceful. It was slightly scary for him, seeing her laid in a hospital bed hooked up to as many wires as possible. At least she was at rest, that was all he thought. He didn't care how much worry and fear he was being put through, as long as she got through this.
