The Revenge Is Out Of The Bag

Another day at training was done and dusted as I thanked Baekhyun. I was about to take my leave when he stopped me and showed me something on his phone. I read it aloud, "BREAKING NEWS: The famous idol singer, Byun Joshua is cheating on StarStruck's Yong Melissa with a member of the up and coming company, ElyXiOn". I gasped. It was a photo of when Josh kissed me on the forehead earlier this morning in front of the company. I scrolled down the news as Baekhyun just looked emotionless while still holding the phone out to me. The comment section was exploding with different opinions of both fans and haters.

"Wow, I didn't know an idol can be this cheap."

"Looks like one girl is not enough for even a famous singer huh?"

"Well, that girl looks better than Melissa. I never liked StarStruck anyway."

"How could he do such a thing? Poor Melissa would be devastated."

"Isn't ElyXiOn that famous group is in charge of? EXO I think?"

I looked back up at Baekhyun once I was done reading and he just stared at me. I gulped and started apologising profusely as I bowed. After a few seconds of silence, he just chuckled.

"Why are you apologising? You just helped us gain more attention." My mouth went agape.

"What do you mean? Isn't this bad for the company's reputation? And won't it affect the sales when I debut?" I was bewildered by Baekhyun's reaction. I knew that he was a chill guy but who can be this chill when their business was about to go downhill?

"Amber, I already said that I won't get involved in your relationship which means that I was prepared for the consequences it may bring, the other members too. Plus, it's not like you made a scene or anything that affects us negatively. If Mr Byun really is your boyfriend, shouldn't he resolve the previous scandal? The one with Ms Yong? The way I see it, admitting what exactly happened would make StarStruck's company lose out the most." I took his words in with deep consideration and understood what he meant. All I have to do is tell the truth. No, Josh has to. I promised Baekhyun that I will do my best to fix this before it gets even more out of hand and he just wishes me good luck.

I speed-walked all the way to Josh's entertainment company and just on time, he was exiting from the back door. How did I know where the back door was? Let's just say having an idol for a mentor really helps in situations like these. I back hugged my boyfriend and told him to guess who it was. He chuckled and swiftly turned to face me, embracing me back.

"Looks like you couldn't wait for me to come and fetch you huh?"

"Well... that and have you seen the news?" Josh nodded his head and looked around. "I've got a plan." He pulled my hand to his black car which was parked at a nearby carpark and opened the door for me to get in. He then got in himself and switched on the heater but didn't start the car to move it.

"So, what's your plan?" I questioned as he began to squint his eyes and look around. He then turned his eyes to me and smiled.

"I'm going to announce what exactly happened to everyone. But Melissa might try something again so I want to make sure she is caught red-handed."

I raised an eyebrow at his statement. "What do you mean? Isn't saying that she forced herself onto you enough?"

"No. Her fans might stalk and harm you. Just like how she did to me which caused this scandal. Remember what Melissa said before she left us at the park that day?"

I thought about it for a while and replied, "Yeah, she said it wouldn't be the last time we see her."

"Exactly. I think she has something to do with the photograph and scandal. If my assumption is correct, she would have had someone waiting near my car to capture another juicy photo to announce to the world."

"Hmm... Now that I think about it, she does know your car plate and by playing the victim card first, it could be more trouble for us."

"But if we catch her playing the victim by hiring someone to take photos of us to use against us, fans would realise that she is a stalker and it would be more trouble for her. People would also believe me when I say that she forced herself on me that night."

"But what if it was just one of your Saesang fans and not really her?"

"I'm 99% sure it's her. Nobody other than my manager and her knew I was near your area then." He was right. She knew he was near my dorms and company since I was there when she and Josh talked at the park. With just a bit of research and stalking, she could have easily found out about me working at ElyXiOn. Hence, I decided to trust Joshua and followed his plan.

"All we need to do is look out for someone taking pictures of us here. But we can't be obvious about it or else they might run away." Josh said and I thought about it for a while before smirking. Josh raised an eyebrow in question and I placed my hands on his cheeks, bringing his lips near mine.

"Taking advantage of the situation huh?" He smirked as well.

I retorted, "Hmm... just luring out our photographer. Plus, I'm pretty sure you're the one who is gonna take advantage of this situation." A sly grin spread across his mouth even more as he replied, "You know me so well." He started inching his lips closer to mine when the sound of a camera being clicked could be heard. We instantly turned in the direction of the noise and found our guy. He was wearing a cap and holding a large camera in his hands. Josh was quicker than me when he rushed out of the car and pinned the guy down. The stalker was too slow to react and so we easily managed to catch him.

"Who are you? Why are you stalking us?" I knelt down and asked him as Josh continued to restrain his movements. He struggled to get out of his grip at first but gave up after a few seconds. I began the voice recording on my phone.

"Someone hired me to. I'm sorry! I just followed what she said because she promised to pay me well!"

"Who hired you?" I continued and our guess was confirmed.

"Yong Melissa, a member of StarStruck. She told me to take photos of you two being intimate. Please, I don't know anything else! Please let me go." I ended the recording and Josh let the man go. The stalker ran away, leaving his camera behind. I looked back at Josh and he smiled at me as he announced, "Mission accomplished!"

Josh sent the recording to his manager and asked him to get a reporter to write an article on exactly what happened, as well as to tell the truth of our relationship that night. I sent the recording to Baekhyun as well so that ElyXiOn can also follow up on the scandal and he agreed. The next morning, the news came out from both Josh's company and mine, followed by numerous comments of how bitchy Melissa was. Well, those are my words but generally, fans were supporting us and saying how Melissa should get kicked out of the industry.

Since Josh had decided to reveal our relationship, it was much easier to go out together. He still had to wear his disguise but we never had to worry about getting exposed. My insecurities were gone as well. I was glad that Josh didn't hide our relationship even more and was surprised by how most of his fans loved us and even gave us ship names. Maybe it was because he had more fans than Melissa did. Of course, there were some haters too. But I mean, who cares? As long as Josh and I had each other, we could overcome those haters together.
