I ran as fast as my legs could carry me to catch the bus that was already there. "Wait! Bus uncle!" I shouted as the bus almost left. Fortunately, the kind uncle heard me and stopped, allowing me to tap and enter the vehicle. I thanked him and took a seat by the window. The weather looked pretty good, and so did the day. It was finally my birthday, which means... Byun Joshua's live concert! I texted Mildred that I got on the bus and we would meet at the entrance of the concert venue. I plugged in my earphones and continued listening to a favourite song of mine, "What if..." by, of course, my favourite idol.

As soon as the bus stopped at my destination, I tapped my card and scurried to where Mildred was waiting for me. We hugged each other and squealed as we entered the venue. We waited for a while and finally managed to enter the concert hall with our little packs of Byun Joshua merchandise. They were so cute, with a banner of his name and lightsticks of his logo. We also had a bracelet that would be controlled by the stage managers, usually for the performer to interact with the audience. Like when the hall changes colour, so does our bracelets. Or when there is a need for a volunteer, that random person's bracelet would light up and be a signal. The latter only happens on rare occasions though.

"I've got my professional camera positioned and ready!" Mildred said, carrying her large digital camera in her hand near her eyes.

"I can't believe you actually brought that when you're supposed to only use it for work. You look like a saesang fan lol." I chuckled. Mildred was actually a photographer. She always had a passion in taking photos and was really good with the camera. It wasn't very surprising when she managed to get the job.

"Well, I paid for this camera so my job can't tell me when I can use it HAHA. Plus, there are WAY more saesang fans in Korea who would do more things than carry around a gigantic camera to capture pictures of their idols."

"Hmm... technically, he is not from Korea but I agree with you on that hehe." It's true. Byun Joshua was actually born and raised in Singapore. However, since his dad was Korean and he owned a big company there, he had to move there for university. He studied at The Seoul School Of Arts and became a famous singer and dancer.

We both giggled and continued talking about random things when the lights suddenly turned off, signalling the beginning of the concert. We became aware of what was happening at the drop of a hat and looked towards the stage. We weren't very far from it. Luckily, Mildred's parents managed to get tickets to seats really near to the stage. Not super close, but close enough to really see our idol.

All of a sudden, there was a loud "bang" and music started playing. Out came Byun Joshua onto the stage and everyone clapped and cheered upon seeing him. Mildred and I squealed as we joined the crowd in supporting him. He started singing and dancing to his latest song, "Juliet" and the audience kept chanting fan chants. I took videos while Mildred took pictures of his performance as we sang along. Soon, his song ended and he greeted all of us. He looked so happy seeing his fans.

"Hi everybody! How are all of you? I can't believe I'm back in Singapore, I've missed this place!" He said through the microphone and everybody cheered for him. He continued talking about how grateful he was seeing us attend his concert and went on with his next performance. The concert lasted for three hours. Three very thrilling hours of much fun and laughter. Did I mention that he was very entertaining and humorous too?

"Alright everybody! I know it's really late and unfortunately, we are coming to the end of the concert." Joshua said, making everyone go "Ohhhh" sadly. "However, we have a very special segment today since this is my first live concert here!" Everyone's eyes lit and ears perked up. "Since it's been a while visiting my childhood place, I wanted to have an event where I can interact with you guys, my fans! So, remember the bracelets you all are wearing right now? The stage managers are going to make one random person's bracelet emit a bright blue light. If you are one of them, come up on stage here and we will be doing a duet! Don't worry if you are not a good singer, we can dance together too hehe!" He said with a wink, making everyone squeal and pray that they are the chosen one.

Mildred was fangirling so much while I stayed calm. I usually don't expect much in these kinds of situations as they are mostly based on luck and I didn't really have that much faith that I would be picked. But I still smiled and hoped that at least my best friend would get to be chosen.

"Okay, ready? 3! 2! 1!"

Suddenly, a bright blue light emitted from my wrist and I had to close my eyes from the impact. When I opened them again, I saw that everyone was staring at me, especially Joshua. That was when I realised. I was the chosen one. The lucky birthday girl.
