Joshua and I walked hand-in-hand to the school entrance. It's been a year since the day he confessed and obviously, I agreed to his question. I didn't mean to, my mouth just said the word, "yes" so easily and I couldn't control myself. However, saying that has made me the happiest person alive. He would always stay with me and be so sweet. We joked around a lot and I felt so secure with him by my side. Although my ankle had fully healed, he still looks out for me in case I trip or that idiot disturbs me again. Oh, what happened to Wayne? Well since he caused chaos again that time, we went to our form teacher after school that day and reported him. We both agreed that he needed to learn his lesson. Now, he hasn't talked to us or done anything but does show eyes of resentment whenever he passes us by.

We went on many dates and studied together. He was such a good teacher that I can now understand and read Korean, though my pronunciation still needed some polishing. Apparently, he wasn't just good at Math. He was AMAZING at it. I didn't understand why he didn't score full marks. He caught what I said really fast and understood everything he didn't before within a day. We rarely had to even discuss anything relating to our studies.

Ever since we got together, I started mingling with others more and got along with some of my classmates. Now, I rarely had problems with projects. Well, it could've also been because the teacher mostly grouped Josh and me together since we scored similar grades.

Yes, I now call him Josh. He said I sounded cuter when I did hehe. I also learnt more about him and discovered that he wanted to become a singer in the future, perhaps in Korea if possible.

"Wait, you can sing?" I asked as he mentioned his passion when we read a Korean passage on music.

"Haha yeah, wanna hear it?" I nodded almost instantly and he chuckled. He then began singing "There's Nothing Holdin' Me Back" by Shawn Mendes.

"Oh, I've been shaking
I love it when you go crazy
You take all my inhibitions
Baby, there's nothing holdin' me back
You take me places that tear up my reputation
Manipulate my decisions
Baby, there's nothing holdin' me back
There's nothing holdin' me back
There's nothing holdin' me back"

My mouth was wide open in awe. His voice was so beautiful. He definitely deserves to become a singer.

"What do you want to become Amber?" He asked the question back to me. I sighed and looked down sadly.

"I don't know Josh. I wanted to become an astronaut or a scientist before. But my sisters want me to study medicine since I'm good at Biology especially. Plus, I wasn't extremely good with all of my subjects so the chances of me getting a scholarship to study Astronomy were very low. But I don't like it. I don't want to study medicine or Science anymore. My heart's just not in it."

"What about your parents? I've realised you've only talked about your sisters."

I sighed again. "They divorced and left us. Neither of them wanted us so we ended up needing to support ourselves. Fortunately, my eldest sister was already working so we could get a small house and afford the basic necessities. I want to help them and not let them worry about money anymore. That's why I hope to get a good job in the future so they don't need to work so hard and can enjoy what they want to do too."

Joshua saw how lost and down I felt and embraced me warmly. I immediately felt so much better.

"Don't worry, I'm sure you can find what you want to do soon. And I'm sure you will make your sisters proud as well," he reassured me then gave me a sweet kiss.

"By the way, how about we become singers together? You like music right? You're always listening to it whenever I'm not with you," Joshua suggested. I thought about it for a while and shook my head.

"I'm not as talented as you are."

"Oh come on, let me hear you sing! I'll be the judge of that," he said excitedly and wiggled his eyebrows.

I giggled and rejected his offer. But then, he pouted and kept begging me with his puppy eyes so much. I gave in eventually. He was just so adorable!

I contemplated on what song to sing a little then decided on "Crush" by David Archuleta.

"Why do I keep running from the truth?
All I ever think about is you
You got me hypnotized, so mesmerized
And I've just got to know
Do you ever think when you're all alone
All that we can be, where this thing can go?
Am I crazy or falling in love?
Is it real or just another crush?
Do you catch a breath when I look at you?
Are you holding back like the way you do?
'Cause I'm trying and trying to walk away
But I know this crush ain't goin' away-ay-ay-ay-ayy
Goin' away-ay-ay-ay-ayy"

I finished it off and looked at my boyfriend. Suddenly, he bent down and kissed me longingly. I was surprised at first but then kissed him back. We pulled away from each other and I gave him a questioning look. He stroked my hair and complimented my singing.

"That was amazing Amber. Your voice was so beautiful and calming. I felt so at home and in peace."

I blushed slightly and hid my face with the book I was holding. He pinched my cheeks and teased me. He then went back to teaching me the pronunciation of difficult Korean words.
