Meredith loved alcohol. She loved it and the way her hips were moving over the stool as the music filled the emerald city bar. Her lips were tingly and her head was fuzzy, but Meredith needed more. More was good because she hadn't been out to really drink and enjoy herself in a while. "Lex...we're not bad looking."

"No we're not." Lexie laughed, taking a sip of the wine in front of her.

"Nope." Meredith said, downing a shot of tequila, before patting Lexie on the shoulder. "This is what I should do for a living...I should drink and...eat these nuts...these nuts are good."

"A professional drinker. I don't think that's as respectable as being a teacher."

"Oh well....guess I have to be the mean teacher still." Meredith sighed, pointing at Lexie.

"You're only mean to the ones who deserve it." Lexie finished her wine.

"Little boys are butt heads." Meredith laughed. "Which sounds immature for a grown woman to say, but I can't think of another way to describe them."

"Big boys are buttheads too."

"What did Mark do?" Meredith asked, popping a few nuts into her mouth.

"Nothing. Or so he says."

"But you think he did?" Meredith poked her sister on the nose before nursing a beer.

"I don't know." Lexie replied, trying not to laugh at her drunk sister. "Maybe I just have to learn to live with him looking at everything with a vagina."

"You did take off with the hospital man whore."

"We never actually talked about being exclusive."

"Exclusive sucks."

"And you're drunk."

"No...."

"You so are."

"You're right." Meredith laughed, placing her head on the bar before lifting it up quickly. "I am...I am but that's okay because I kissed a students Dad...I have students that are...buttheads and I hit a squirrel today with my car."

"Meredith!" Lexie started to giggle. It wasn't funny. But her sister was drunk.

"Poor squirrel."

"Have you talked to Derek since the kiss?"

"No he doesn't know about the squirrel, because if he did he might think I kill small animals and small animals are like babies that turn into children and he can't think I kill things." Meredith rambled.

"I didn't mean....nevermind." Lexie laughed, shaking her head.

"But he was a good kisser."

"You like him."

"No...I don't...he's hot and he has great hair and if Leighton hadn't stopped me I would have...it doesn't matter what I would have done."

"What would you have done?" Lexie wanted to hear her sister's drunk answer.

"I will tell you what I would not have done....I would not have lost my panties."

"Here...have more nuts." She laughed, pushing the bowl towards Meredith.

"Okay." Meredith laughed. She couldn't remember the last time she had been this drunk but she wasn't regretting it.

"Maybe you should slow down a little." Lexie suggested, before she spotted Derek out the corner of her eye, heading over in their direction. "Or not."
