"You're beautiful when you sleep." Derek whispered, a small smile on his face as he stroked Meredith's cheek. She was sound asleep again after being woken up in the middle of the night with one of the her nightmares. Derek had been able to wake her up before she started to scream and calm her down enough to go back to sleep and he hadn't been able to take his eyes off of her since then. She would laugh at him for knowing he was staying awake, just watching over her but he couldn't help it. She was sleeping peacefully, no more bad dreams and he needed to be sure that she was okay, that she was safe.
"Toes....cold." Meredith mumbled as she scoot her body closer to him.
"Shh..." Derek chuckled, fixing the blankets over her.
"Naked..." She swatted at her nose then curled her body into him, her nose moving to his neck.
"Hmm..."
"Derek...cold." She groaned.
"Okay." He laughed, pulling her tighter to him, rubbing her arms to warm her up.
"Hmm..."
"You can go back to sleep."
"I am asleep."
"Okay..." Derek chuckled, kissing her cheek.
"Mmm."
"Early."
"I know." Derek whispered, kissing her softly.
"Mmm..." She finally opened her eyes.
"Good morning."
"Morning." Her voice was scratchy and still tired.
"How are you?"
"Sleepy."
"Beautiful." He smiled, kissing her again.
"Shh..."
"Beside from the...did you sleep okay?"
"Mmm....yeah." She yawned. "You?"
"I...yeah..." Derek lied.
"Good."
"Yeah..."
"You smell like....you."
"Is that a good thing?" Derek laughed, stroking her cheek.
"It's a great thing."
"Then thank you."
"Mmm....very you," She rolled onto her stomach.
"You smell like you too."
"Is that a good thing?" She giggled, her hair falling over her shoulders.
"It's a very good thing." Derek laughed, squeezing her hand.
"Greatest part about sleeping last night? Being able to sleep naked with the door unlocked."
"I think I can agree with that."
"A night alone....completely naked and we didn't have sex." She giggled.
"We still have all day today and tonight." He smirked.
"We do." She kissed him quickly.
"Hmm...what are you thinking about?"
"I don't know."
"You don't know?" He laughed, kissing her quickly.
"No." She clutched his cheek in her hand.
