Meredith Grey wasn't sure when she became this woman. The woman who was watching a young child sleep, stroking Leighton's hair gently as she debated what to do next. She knew it was wrong to just flip flop on what Derek was trying to do but they needed to address this issue in a way that would work. What she did was wrong and she would apologize. She would say sorry but she needed to tell him why she did it. He knew but he hadn't listened.

She shouldn't have taken Leighton and stayed with her against his wishes but if they were going to do this together and if she was going to be in the lives of these children, she wasn't going to throw them into something they weren't ready for without preparing them. She couldn't do that to them.

Meredith smiled as Leighton began to wake up, stretching in her arms as she wrapped her small hands around Meredith's neck. It was the moments like this where things felt right and if she was going to change things, she wanted it to be done right. "Mmm...good morning Leighton."

"Morning." Leighton answered, rubbing her eyes and smiling at Meredith.

"Good dreams?"

"Uh huh."

"Good."

Can we go snuggle with Daddy?"

"I um....I think I should go talk to Daddy first."

"Can we snuggle after that?" Leighton asked, playing with Meredith's hair.

"Yeah...I'll send him in to get you."

"Okay." Leighton giggled.

"I'll be right back." Meredith smiled.

"Meredith?"

"What?"

"Can we play dolls later?"

"You are going to your Grandmas, remember?"

"Oh yeah!"

"I'll be right back." Meredith kissed her cheek.

"Okay." Leighton smiled, picking up one of her dolls and starting to talk to herself as she played with them.

"Okay." Meredith smiled, getting up from the bed and her smile faded as she walked down the hall. He had probably stopped being mad now and going to see him would fix things. She knew how to fix this and she would. Then they would talk and be fine. THat is just how it went. "Good morning."

"Hmm..." That was all Derek said, not looking up from the book he was reading as she walked into their room and shut the door.

"What are you reading?" She asked, locking the bedroom door and walking over to the bed.

"Nothing." He closed the book, and put it on the bedside table, looking up at her.

"Okay." She sighed, pulling her sweatshirt off of her body.

"Okay."

"I messed up." She pulled her tank top off, before straddling him as she kept her top off.

"What are you doing?"

"I'm apologizing."

"Not like this." Derek turned his head as she tried to kiss him.

"Derek."

"If you wanted to do this, you should have thought it last night."

"Derek...don't be like this. You were being unreasonable."
