Masaru chuckled at his oldest son's message and pocketed his phone. It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon; birds chirping and leaves rustling in a summery breeze.

Sadly he'd been cramped at his desk all day, designing bits and bobs for his company while sipping a cup of luke-warm coffee. His wife, dressed in a lovely green cardigan, pink skirt and pearls had gone out shopping and dragged his youngest, Katsuki, with her.

M/n, his favo- um, his oldest boy, had a quirk similar to his own, and a tendency to keep his hands reluctantly to himself.

Their dad was a himbo, but he wasn't dumb enough to ignore how M/n's eyes had dulled over the years, how that big, stretchy smile was just that; a smile, with little happiness behind it.

Looking over his scribbled templates, Masaru sighed further into his hand. Was it his fault?

The twins' fourth birthday was something Mitsuki would bring up when drunk, making him cringe; the fluffy orange cat getting grilled by excited hands, resulting in his little one getting scratched and hissed at.

And of course, when M/n was just five and was simply hugging his brother.
Burning his brother.
He could scrutinise his parenting all he wanted, but in that moment- snatching M/n under the arms, holding an arm out like an animal tamer, keeping Katsuki safe behind him.

It made him sick.

Because now his son hesitated before touching someone, barely did anyways. Only in moments of pure emotion when M/n was too blind to think of repercussions would he hold someone tight- whether in agony, joy, or relief.

"Don't touch anyone, it's not safe!"

"ogey."

he'd winced at the heavy guilt in his five year old's eyes and that horrible nickname his wife gave him during the car journey to the hospital.
