Chapter 22 - Arcade Fun

I make my way over to the arcade, staring into space. Dahyun notices me just standing there and walks over.

"Hey, you good?" she asks me.

"Can I tell you a secret?" I am still staring at absolutely nothing when I say that.

"Sure." Dahyun says.

"I have a boyfriend who I don't even like." I finally turn to face her, while withholding a dead face.

"First boyfriend?" she looks concerned.

"Yeah." I sigh, maintaining my tilted head.

"What?! I mean it's bad enough if you don't like the dude and it's like after your first boyfriend. But it's another level when it's your first one. You don't want to remember your first boyfriend as some person you don't like." Dahyun explains while grabbing my face up close to hers.

"I guess so. But I've never experienced this type of thing before, so I didn't know what to do, or-r how to react." I told her.

"I get it. But if you don't want to be in this relationship, end it off. Who even is this guy?" we now were seated at one of the seats by the snack portion of the arcade.

"Taehyung." I mumble.

"TAEHYUNG?! As in Kim Taehyung?" I nod. "Gosh. Not trying to offend you or anything, but how?"

"I don't know. I've never really had more than Wendy and Mina as friends so I didn't know how to act around a new guy friend. I guess maybe I led him in the wrong direction?" I shrug my shoulders. "Either way, you can not tell anybody about this, okay? I haven't even registered this information myself so please, the last thing I want to let out is that a nobody like me has even gotten a boyfriend. Especially not my best friends. They've always been by my side and if I just don't tell them, it's like betraying them."

"I already said that I would keep it a secret. But promise me that you try to sort this whole thing out as fast as possible. If you're still thinking about it for more than a month, I will break." she warns me.

"Okay." I whisper.

"Let's go to the others." she says as she lifts me up from my sorrow.

We head over to the others and after Mina wins a game, they turn their attention to us.

"Hey! Where've you been? Is everything okay? Not eavesdropping or anything, but I saw your conversation looked pretty serious." Wendy was directing towards me and Dahyun.

"Yep! Everything's fine. It's just that I had to talk to Dahyun about a project that we were working on together." I make up on the spot.

"But you guys only have one class together, and that's with all of us." Chaeyoung says.

"It's for a club we're in." Dahyun adds on; and she wasn't completely wrong, we were in a club together and we did have an assignment to complete.

"Okay! Let's get back to playing games!" Mina exclaims. I still remember that when any of us were sad, we would just come to the arcade to cheer us up, and it always worked.

"Yeah!" I shouted in response.

"What do you want to play first?" Wendy asked me.

"Um... Oh! I have an idea! Let's split up into two groups and then earn a bunch of tickets, and then come back together and spend all the tickets. That way, we have a larger amount." I state simply.

"Sure!" they all reply.

We split into two; Dahyun and I; and then Chaeyoung, Mina, and Wendy. We go our own ways and try at different games. We agreed to meet up in three hours in the place where we separated. About ten minutes before we meet up again, as I was about to win a game, Dahyun brings up the one thing I completely forgot about, and wanted to forget.
