Natalie's POV
"No, I understand your concerns, King T'chaka. What I don't understand is why we can't just station ourselves here for protection if things don't go our way."
The king of Wakanda is very stubborn. If the Scarlet Witch and the Black Widow can't convince him, I knew I would have to fly down there myself. I had to show the urgency and importance of this, so I figured a phone call just wouldn't do the trick.
T'chaka is most definitely a proper person.
"Because the only reason Wakanda has prospered for so long is because we kept ourselves hidden," he says.
I can tell this has been an ongoing conversation for him due to his clear annoyance.
"Wakanda has prospered at the expense of others. Your selfishness to keep your resources to yourself has caused chaos in this world. Your technology and forces alone could have stopped conflict and helped the world. I'm trying to you a chance to right your wrongs," I attempt to reason.
He hesitates to answer. I can tell the king was considering what I said, but it didn't matter in the end. He still shook his head in refusal.
"Fine, if you don't think I'm right, I'm going to prove to you that your son, T'challa, does," I grunted. "Wanda, instead of showing them their future, show them my past."
The royal family all looked at each other in confusion. I thought only of the plot of the Black Panther movie.
I again felt weird saying "movie." I wasn't living in the movies anymore. I've changed everything so much. I know these people now. They're people. It still hasn't completely sunk in yet.
"Alright, Wakanda shall provide protection and resources. They will be limited, however."
"Baba, we must do all that we can. No limits. If these visions are the truth, it is our duty. I will not stand by if there is something I could and should be doing," T'challa joins the discussion.
"For now, my decision is made."
I sigh as that is all I can do for now. That was a very big step and limited access to Wakanda is still access.
"Alright. I'll call the team. I'll have the Vision be sent this way. We'll need help from your daughter, Shuri. She possesses the intelligence needed to remove the Mind Stone without him having to sacrifice himself. I know it will take time, but the Quantum tunnel should be finished by now, so plenty of help will be provided. Can you do that?" I ask.
Shuri nodded.
"Good. I'll be headed back to New York. I have one more thing I have to do. Nat and Clint, I need you to contact Vision and tell them to come directly to Wakanda and not back to New York."
"What do you have to do back in New York?" Nat asks.
"There's one more stone to get," I replied.
"Is that what the tunnel is for?" Pietro asked.
"Yes. You guys stay here and wait for the rest of them to get here. I can't expect it would take longer than a day."
I started walking back to the quinjet and I started to dial Steve's number whom I left back in New York. It didn't take long for him to pick up, but to my surprise, it wasn't Steve's voice that I heard.
"Is everything alright, doll?"
Bucky sounded worried. He always sounded worried.
"Everything's fine, hun. I just need you to tell everyone in the compound to start packing their bags for Wakanda. I need all of those smartypants here helping get that stone out of Vision's head."
