Steve's POV

It's been a couple weeks since Natalie lost her memory. She's gotten extremely close with Bucky and it kills me to see them together. I'm happy for them, but also I can't help but want to spill the truth.

Clint and Natalie's relationship hasn't changed and that bothers me just as much. He's not even at the compound anymore and yet Natalie and Clint are always talking. I've been letting her live her new life, but curiosity had gotten the best of me. So I called him.

"Yes, Cap?" Clint answers the phone almost instantly.

"Look, I know you're taking family time and the last person you want to talk to is your teammate, but - "

"Hey, Steve, calm down. You're my friend. What's got you so worked up?" He asked, assuring me that the call wasn't a bother.

"I was just hoping you could do me a favor."

"Steve, if this is about Natalie, I'm not sure I can be of much help," Clint sighs.

"I was just hoping you could tell me if there's anything going on between Buck and Natalie," I say quickly.

"There isn't."

"I sense a but," I say as my nerves take over.

"Listen, Natalie had a major obsession with you and Bucky when she was a kid. She told me all about it. Her being here without her family is overwhelming. She knows what happens to us, Steve. She can't even look at certain people without wanting to cry."

"I know. She told me what happens."

"She did? Why? She barely told me anything. What changed?" Clint asked, shocked.

"She had a dream. She told me she figured out how to change the future and save the ones who died. Now that she lost her memory, she doesn't know anything."

"Steve, you have to - "

"No, Clint. Now isn't the time to get into that. We have to wait. Just please be honest with me. Are they seeing each other?"

"No, Steve, but I wouldn't be surprised if they started. I'm pretty sure Natalie thinks she was with Bucky all this time and not you. She's confused. You should tell her the truth. She deserves to know."

"Thanks, Clint. I have to go."

Before he could say anything else, I hung up the phone. I knew he would try to convince me to tell Natalie she's mine, but that's selfish. I refuse to hold her back. Honestly, I think I'm just scared. What if I tell her and she doesn't believe me or doesn't care. I don't think I can handle that.

I look down at my phone to see the time.

8:56 PM.

That's not what caught my attention though. The date was far more interesting.

April 21, 2016.

Tomorrow is Natalie's birthday.

I know how special the day was for her and her dad. Without him here, I can only imagine how her day is going to go. No daisies on daisy day. That would destroy her. I know how much this means to her.

It's up to me to make sure there's daisies on April 22nd.

The next morning I woke up very early and ran out of the compound. I picked up 6 dozen daisies, a card, and extra flower petals.

Why all of that?

Because it was for Natalie.

I had trouble getting the large amount of flowers to her room. I even tripped and dropped them. I quickly picked them up and prayed that none of them were smashed or wilted.
