Chapter 2

Natalie's POV

I look Steve in the eye and decide to tell him a little bit about Thanos, his family, and his motives. Honestly, I didn't really know where to start. I just went for it. He can always ask questions.

"Okay, there is this particular space grape names Thanos. He stinks. His planet was dying and he had an idea that he thought would save them. Genocide. He would kill off half the planet at random. Of course, they all thought he was crazy, so they banished him.

Thanos never gave up on that concept though. He wanted this to happen for the entire universe. He thought it was mercy. Thanos eventually found a way to do it with a snap of his fingers. The Infinity Stones.

In order to get all the stones, he would need help. No one knew where any of them were. They were lost. Thanos built an army, he had allies. He went to planet to planet and massacred millions.

He took children and trained them. He turned the innocent into weapons. He had a favorite daughter, as most parents do, Gamora. She saw how insane he was betrayed him."

That's about the backstory, right? Sure.

"So, Thanos, a crazy man from space, wants to wipe out half the universe with the help of his army and the Infinity Stone because he thinks he'll save the world?" Steve asks to confirm.

"Yep, exactly."

"Okay, we win, don't we? Because other me married Peggy," he connects the dots.

"Yes, but I want to win the first time."

"The first time?" Steve asks, shocked.

"There are two battles against Thanos. One to prevent the snap, and one after the snap. It's confusing. Let me start from the beginning," I babble.

"April 2018; space. Thor, Bruce, and every citizen of Asgard, plus some more, are on their way to earth in a giant spaceship. They - "

"Wait, why is all of Asgard coming to earth? And why was Banner with them?" Steve interrupts.

"Oh, because of Thor's evil sister invaded Asgard and they had to destroy the whole planet in order to kill her. Bruce was supposed to be stuck as Hulk and get lost in space for two years, but I stopped that. You're welcome," I add.

"Thor seems to have some family issues," Steve scoffs.

"Actually, Loki is good now," I smiled.

"Now, as I was saying," I get back to the story.

"Thanos attacked their ship and killed half of everyone on board. The other half escaped and fled to earth. Thanos demands for the Tesseract and Loki goes to distract him with it. Hulk nearly dies, but is sent to earth. Loki dies to save Thor, and Thanos get the space stone.

Back on earth, we see a lovely Tony and Pepper, they meet with a wizard, who you haven't met yet. His name is Dr. Strange. He had the time stone. Bruce tells Tony, and then two children of Thanos wreak havoc in New York. Tony, Strange, and Peter, someone you don't know, all end up being captured.

This is where you come along.

Bruce, calls you after Tony refuses and you, Sam, and Nat all come out of hiding to save the two love birds, Wanda and Vision."

At least that one went a little better.

"We were hiding? Why?" Steve asks again.

"That's another long story that I prevented. Once again, you're welcome," I smile proudly.

"Anyway, sexy looking Steve Rogers saves the day with the Avengers theme song playing in the background. It's pretty incredible," I squeal.

"Is there a difference between Steve Rogers and sexy looking Steve Rogers?" he smirks.

"Yes, Steve Rogers is sexy as he is, but sexy Steve Rogers is in his criminal bad boy, but also sweet stage in life. That stern look that almost looks angry. You found out that you can actually stand up to your own government. Oh, and the big beard and longer hair," I swoon.

"A beard huh? I could do that," he eyes me.

"Not yet! I want to get as much of sweet baby Steve as possible," I point a finger at him.

"Alright, fine! Continue with the story," he laughs.

"Okay, so you go back and tell Ross to shove it up his butt and then make a plan to destroy the mind stone with Wanda's powers. You, being the hero that you are, decide that you have to remove it first so you go to Wakanda. I'll explain that when the time comes," I say realizing that he wouldn't know that Wakanda is actually really awesome.

I also need to take Bucky there to get his mind fixed, but that can wait for now.

"In space, Tony decides to go after Thanos instead of coming back to earth. He meets the Guardians of the Galaxy which include Gamora. Speaking of those folks, they met Thor. Thor and two of their members went to go make an ax because Thor's hammer was destroyed by his evil sister that was mentioned before.

By then, Thanos already had the space, power, and reality stone. He also kidnapped Gamora. Life isn't going too good right now."

I can tell Steve is getting nervous. I start to slow down and make things less of a joke. I think the more I speed this up and say they lose as if it was nothing, the more it will make him upset.

"You, Sam, Nat, Wanda, Bruce, Vision, and Rhodes fly to Wakanda to meet up with the King of Wakanda and Bucky. Before you ask, Bucky was in Wakanda because he wanted to use their tech to erase what HYDRA had done to him. I plan on doing that by the way." I answer the question that I know he was thinking.

"Thanos finds the soul stone, but in order to get it, he has to sacrifice something he loves," I pause.

I always hated this part.

"Thanos, he uh. He killed his daughter, Gamora."

Steve stiffens and forms a fist. I can tell he's more sad than angry though. It's all in the eyes. He feels terrible.

"Tony and his new team, arrive on Thanos' home planet, Titan, to wait for him to arrive. Tony, nearly dies, but Strange trades the time stone in order to save Stark's life. Thanos' army all gather in Wakanda where a giant battle brews. Thor and his new pals join you all.

You all work your hardest to defeat the army or at least destroy the last stone.

Thanos arrives on earth and he takes each of down. When Vision realizes that they won't be able to remove the stone from his head, he sacrifices himself. Wanda has to kill the man she loves.

It doesn't work though."

I feel myself about to cry, honestly. I hate having to explain this and look at Steve. He looks absolutely crushed. He knows what's going to happen, but he doesn't know just how much it's going to hurt.

"Thanos reverses time with the times stone, and he collects the last stone. You were so close, but he's too powerful with all the stones. He won. He snapped his fingers. You lost almost everyone. Sam, Bucky, new friends you haven't met yet, Wanda. Not only that, but you thought Tony died in space. Instead, he was stranded with just one other person because everyone else turned to dust."

"What did we do?" Steve asked trying to mask his sadness.

"Not much. You waited for hope."
