Talia's POV

Everyone had arrived in Wakanda like Natalie wanted and expected. We had all the stones in our possession. We were just waiting on Natalie to return with Steve and Bucky with the Soul Stone and for the Mind Stone's removal from Vision.

"So, what exactly is her plan? Why gather all the stones just to wait? Isn't that dangerous?" Ned asked.

I'm surprised he's still here. He was freaking out for quite some time. Even so, he's right.

"Did your sister tell you?" Peter chimed in.

"No, she didn't," I sighed.

Something is definitely off. I don't know why, but there's no reason she would have insisted on recruiting such a large team without a good reason. Natalie is clearly worried about something coming.

Natalie's POV

After a short trip to Wakanda, Steve landed the quinjet. Even though we were so close and all we needed to was put all the stones in the gauntlet, I can't shake this feeling.

I have this pit in my stomach that something is going to go terribly wrong. And I'm terrified that not only with my record of no casualties will get its first dent, but I fear I won't be able to do anything about it.

I'll have to stand by and watch.

And that kills me.

"Nattie, are you okay? You seem stressed," Bucky asked.

"Yeah, we have all the stones. What is it you're not telling us?" Steve adds.

To be honest, I don't really know how to properly explain how I'm feeling. Logically, yes, we've practically won the war, but it was too easy. And they won't understand because as far as they know, I know everything.

And I do. Up until Endgame.

"Look, last time, Thanos found out because he always does. Time wants to happen. There's fate and the writers of time, you know? I'm just taking precautions," I shrug.

They still don't seem convinced.

"Everything has worked out so far, why are you only just now starting to get worried?" Steve asked.

That's anxiety for you.

"I don't know. It just feels wrong. It's hard to explain."

"It's okay, doll. You've done amazing. Everything will turn out alright," Bucky reassures me with a kiss on the forehead.

"Come on, let's go meet the rest of the crew. They've been waiting for us," he says and grabs mine and Steve's hands.

The three of us exit the quinjet and are greeted by King T'chaka, T'challa, and Nat.

Nat gives me a sly look of curiosity and I just roll my eyes. I could feel the blush on my face though. I'm not exactly subtle when it comes to emotions.

"Your highness, thank you again for your understanding and letting us meet here," I graciously state once again.

He bows his head slightly in acknowledgment and gestures towards his son and Natasha.

"I must admit we have been questioning your decision to meet at all. If the stones are what you wanted, why do you need an army?"

Before I could even get a single syllable out, there were alarms going off.

"My King, something has entered the upper border," someone reported.

Their voice was assertive and not panicked, unlike me.

A loud crash above us shook the ground and we saw a ship drop-down pod ships filled with what I know to be soldiers under the control of the Mad Titan Thanos.

"Because of that," I said, suddenly very terrified.

I can't fight him or his super people or the space dog things.

"Is that who I think it is?" Steve asked, squeezing my hand.

"Yep."

"Maybe you were right to worry," Bucky tried to joke.

"You think?" I snark back.

"What do we do, Natalie?" Steve asked.

"Um..."

I really don't know. I mean, I do know, but I'm so panicked and stressed out I can't even think.

"Hey, listen. We need you right now. What's the plan?"

Steve held my face in his hands and I felt comfortable. His crystal eyes just stared into mine as I felt the warmth of his hands on my skin.

"Nattie?" I heard Bucky's voice from behind Steve.

I looked behind me at the gathering soldiers outside the dome.

"Okay, I'll get the Soul Stone to the gauntlet, and hopefully the Mind Stone is out by now. You try to hold them off in the meantime."

They both nod.

"Suit up."

A/N

So sorry this took so long and it's still shorter than usual. I've been on the struggle bus.
