I yawned and stretched, slowly sitting up in bed. It was quarter to eight in the morning and our first class started at nine. I decided I had better get up. All of the other girls were still fast asleep. I went quietly over to my suitcase and pulled out clean robes. I changed into them and grabbed a hair tie to pull my hair into a ponytail, before heading downstairs into the common room.
There was only a few people down there. Percy, Colin, Daniel, two girls chattering away in the corner, and Hermione were the only people in the room. I walked over to Daniel and said good morning.
"Morning. Want a timetable?" He asked.
"Yes please." I answered. He passed me a slip of paper. I read through it to see what we were doing today. I groaned as I read that our first class for the year would be Potions. Then Herbology - that wouldn't be too bad, then Charms - that'd be quite good, and then our last lesson for the day would be Defense Against The Dark Arts. The day starts off bad-ish, and goes to good. Great!
"Did you see we've got Potions first?" Daniel asked, grinning.
"Yes." I replied with a frown. Daniel laughed, and assured me that it would be fine. He asked if I wanted to go get breakfast. I said yes, and we walked off into the Great Hall.
We sat down next to Fred and George, who were already up, busy stuffing their faces with toast. Daniel and I laughed at them, and George just said, "What?" We laughed some more, before getting our own toast. I spread mine with strawberry jam and ate it without talking to anyone.
As I was munching my way through my second piece, Malfoy and his gang walked into the hall. They walked over to the Slytherin table, and started eating their own breakfast. Then just as I turned away, Daniel poked me, and told me to look back at Draco. He was now doing impressions of Harry fainting. Just at the right time, Harry walked in. Ron, who was next to him, looked angry, and I honestly thought that he was going to somehow try to hurt Draco, but it looked like Hermione had told the boys not to do anything. They kept on walking until they were by us. They sat down and Harry sighed, muttering about how much he hated Draco. We all nodded.
"Hey Hermione, do you know if Star and Ginny are awake?" I asked as my three older friends started to eat.
"I'm not really sure, but I couldn't hear anything. I'm guessing they're still asleep." Hermione replied. I grinned.
"I'll go wake them up," I told her. I got up, a piece of toast still in my mouth, and ran to the common room.
"Password?" The Fat Lady asked me as I reached her portrait.
"Fortuna Major." I said. She nodded curtly, and the door swung open. I climbed inside and looked around. They hadn't come down yet.
I ran up the steps, finally reaching our dormitory. I pushed the door open to see everyone still asleep. Sighing, I started thinking of an imaginative way to wake them up. Unfortunately my mind was not feeling too creative. All I could do was pick up a pillow and smack them until they woke up! A few hits proved to me that Star was a heavy sleeper. Ginny woke up at first contact.
"Huh? Why are you waking us up? Did you hit me...?" Ginny said, sitting up in bed.
"I feel as though I have been hit," Star said confusedly.
"We have our first day of school today. Get up, get dressed and come to the Hall." I said before walking over to the door. The two girls both up now, still looking sleepy and confused. I grinned at them and went back to the Great Hall. 10 minutes later, Ginny came through the door with Star.
"Morning Sleeping Beauty 1 and 2!" Daniel said as they sat down opposite us. Ginny pulled a face at him, and Star blushed and said hi nervously. I raised my eyebrows at her, but she just blushed even more and looked down at her food.
