"And the winner of the Daily Profit's Annual Grand Prize Galleon draw is..."
Fred, George, Ron, Ginny, Mr. Weasley, and I were all standing in the kitchen, waiting in suspense to see who had won the draw. Mrs. Weasley stood in front of us, reading from the front page of the Daily Profit.
"ARTHUR WEASLEY!" she shouted out, unable to keep the grin off her face.
"Hooray!" all of us yelled at the top of our lungs, whooping and hollering.
"Calm down!" Mrs. Weasley said sternly after a few minutes of celebrating. We all went quiet, lapsing into a sudden silence.
"Congratulations Mr. Weasley! " I said to Arthur, breaking the silence and grinning at him.
"Thank you Miranda," he said, grinning back at me in a state of disbelief.
"How are you going to spend it, Dad!?" Ginny asked her father excitedly from where she was sitting, practically bouncing up and down on her seat.
"I don't know, Molly, what do you think?" Arthur asked his wife.
"Hmm...it would be good to get Ron a new wand," At this moment Ron fist-pumped and did a little happy dance. You couldn't help but laugh. "And how about a holiday to go see Bill or Charlie?"
"That sounds excellent, mother." said a voice from behind the corner. It was Percy. Molly smiled at her son.
"Oh wow, the Percinator's finally come out of hiding!" Fred said, laughing. Percy had been up in his room for most of the holidays, only coming downstairs for meals, where he would finish his food lightning fast before running back upstairs. Our loud celebrating must have caused him to come and see what was happening.
"Yeah! Perce, what took you so long to finally come out?" George asked. Percy sighed and shook his head before returning back to his room. I saw everyone except for Mrs Weasley roll their eyes at him.
"I think that's a good idea. If there's any money left, we'll put it towards fixing up the house a bit," Mr Weasley said.
"I think we should visit Bill in Egypt!" Ron said excitedly.
"Bill? He's your brother?" I asked, not feeling very smart. I'd heard the name before but didn't really know anything else about him.
"Yeah! He works in Egypt as a curse breaker for Gringotts," Ginny said brightly.
"Oh, that sounds awesome!" I said, "I'd love to go there!"
"We should!" Fred and George said together, grinning from ear to ear.
"It's settled then," Molly said, "Now, you kids go and do something before dinner. It's about 20 minutes away,"
As we all started walking up the steps in silence, Ron had a good idea.
"Hey guys, wanna play 3-on-2 Quidditch??" he asked.
"Sure!" Everyone agreed. We ran out to the back field.
"I don't have a broom again!" I shouted, looking up as everyone else flew into the air.
"Hey!" Ginny said, as if suddenly remembering something. "Just use Percy's! I can't believe we've never thought of that before!"
I nodded up at her and walked out to the back of the shed. I grabbed the only broom that was left. I hadn't seen it before, but there were lots of things I still hadn't seen in and around The Burrow. The broom was dusty although it still looked brand new. Someone snorted with laughter behind me, and I turned to find George standing there. Spotting my confused expression, George told me that Percy never rode his broom so it was practically still new. It was weird how unlike his brothers he was. I forgot about Percy as I took off, grinning as the cool breeze whipped my hair around my face.
We started to play. It was Ron and I versus Fred, George, and Ginny. After playing quite an unfair game, we were called in for dinner.
"We've decided to go as soon as possible. We'll be leaving tomorrow, so go get all your stuff packed," Molly said as we all finished off the last of our food. "Don't bother packing your school stuff because we'll be coming back in time to start the school year!"
We all raced up the stairs in excitement and grabbed our suitcases, packing everything we could jam in.
"Do you think I should bring some money?" I asked Ginny, picking up all the coins that had fallen out of my drawer when I opened it.
"Yeah, you could buy some Egyptian souvenirs or something," Ginny replied. I gave her a thumbs up while I yawned.
"Do you know what the time is?" I asked Ron as he came up to get something that Ginny had stolen.
"Yeah, it's like 10," he said, not sounding a bit tired. After all that packing, Ginny and I just flopped onto our beds, fast asleep.
