Harry explained the whole thing to us. The reason Hermione stayed behind at lunch was to tell McGonagall about the broom. She thought that because there was no note or indication of who it was from, that it could be from Sirius Black. She had thought that it could have been jinxed so when Harry rode it, something bad would happen to him. Professor McGonagall agreed with her and she came up to have a look at it. She'd examined it carefully and told Harry that it would need to go to Madam Hooch and Professor Flitwick, who would strip it down to see if it was jinxed. I could tell that Hermione was just trying to help, but she'd just made Harry really mad.

"She's avoiding us now. We don't even know where she is." Ron said.

"Well, we think she's in the library, but we don't really want to go after her. She'll probably lecture us to death," Harry told us.

"That's true." Ginny stated, before walking away.

Shortly after New Year, the students who had been on holiday returned, making the Gryffindor Tower noisy and crowded once again.

Fred and George filled us in on what happened at The Burrow, telling us all about the dinner they'd had, and the presents they got. They even told us about all of the pranks they pulled on Percy - which was a lot. Eventually they bid us farewell, and retreated upstairs into their dormitory. It was good to have everyone back; it wasn't as lonely. But there was one downside. Star, Felicity, and Ella were back, meaner than ever (still with their stupid insults though!). They delighted themselves by teasing basically everyone apart from the boys they fancied. They continuously laughed about my eye that I had accidentally turned green, but I still didn't change it back.

Lessons started up again the day after everybody returned. They were just the same as last term, but with added pressure to learn more as the end of the year approached faster, bringing exams along with it.

The most fun class was still Defense Against The Dark Arts. On our first lesson back, we learnt about different types of defensive spells, but we didn't get to use them. At the end of the lesson, I got up to leave with everybody else but Professor Avium said my name and told me to stay and have a talk with her and Professor Lupin. I nervously glanced at Ginny and Daniel.

"We'll wait for you out there," Daniel said, looking out the door. I nodded, and turned back to my two teachers. Professor Avium was looking at my necklace - the gold heart one I had gotten for Christmas.

"I like your necklace," she said, giving me a rather sad smile.

"Thanks...so, why am I here?" I said, uncertain of what this 'talk' would be about. Professor Lupin chuckled at my expression.

"You're not in trouble! I just wanted to tell you something." Lupin said, "I trust that Harry told you my offer of Anti-Dementor lessons?" I nodded, before he started speaking again. "I've discussed this with Harry, and we decided to have our first lesson on Thursday evening. Eight o'clock in the History of Magic classroom."

"Okay, sounds good. Can I go now?" I asked. Both of them laughed at me, but they dismissed me. I walked out of the room.

"What was that about?" Ginny demanded as soon as she saw me. I told them about the lessons, and they both got excited.

"C'mon Miranda, we've got to go!" Harry said for the fourth time.

"I'm coming!" I said back, rushing down the stairs, almost crashing into him. He grabbed my wrist quite roughly, and dragged me out of the Common Room. Together, we ran down the empty corridors until we reached the classroom we'd been told to come to. Harry walked in first, me just behind him. It was dark when we got inside, and no one was there yet. Harry raised his wand and lit the lamps, illuminating the room in an orange glow. He sunk into a chair, and I sat down beside him. I opened my mouth to speak, but I was cut off by the door opening and Professor's Lupin and Avium walking in, Lupin carrying a large briefcase.
